I've just gone to make a cup of tea and realised that it means opening a new 4 pinter of milk.
I was unreasonably pissed off at this.

The cap hurts my hand and I hate pulling of the stupid, silver seal then having to throw it away. Angry

I have no idea why this upsets me so much but it made me realise that I although I will do it. I am stupidly annoyed every time I have to and if that if I can find a way to get dh to do it, without actually telling him about my unreasonable dislike of the task, I will.

It made me wonder... is anyone else pissed off by anything as ridiculously small and insignificant, or am I alone in my unreasonableness?

I feel annoyed by the exact same thing OP! I genuinely feel a sense of relief when my mums been round to visit and I go to the fridge dreading hurting my hand and binning the seal (which I always end up leaving on the side which annoys me even more) and finding that she opens it earlier!

You’re not alone with your ridiculous issue with this Grin

I hate hanging out socks when the laundry has finished more than anything in the world

Especially trainer ones which don't sit on the line properly

ken I think I love you. Although I could never live with you, obviously!

I always end up leaving the horrid, silver fucker on the side too and end up annoyed by it hours after the initial trauma. Angry Grin

I am so glad not to be alone.

I love this thread. At one point I was calculating how many times I'd brushed my teeth. Realized as an old lady, I'll give up as i just won't be able to face it one more time.

Now it's the sodding dishwasher. And cleaning the thing in the sink that catches all the bits...the one DH thinks is self-cleaning.

Oh god the silver disc. My nemesis. I'd rather scrub the toilet than face the anguish.

I hate wiping crumbs off a surface. No matter how hard I try, there’s always a rogue few that end up on the floor, and if I don’t spot them on time, I end up standing on them.

If I do spot them, it then means I have to get another cloth to clean them up, because no matter how much I rinse the first one, they never come off and end up spreading again.

Also, having to unplug anything, especially if its behind a cabinet/sofa. There’s just no way to get a good grip, hand ends up slipping and smacking something. 9 times out of 10 I have to move whatever’s infront of the socket, to be able to remove the plug.

I hate that too OP and like a pp said, I ALWAYS leave it on the side as I hate putting it in the bin more and just stare at it in annoyance for hours after every time I enter the kitchen.

I also hate washing up knives and forks- the absolute worst!!

Cleaning the tumble dryer filter
Makes me feel total rage at the machine designers/life/the universe generally
I would add the washing machine powder dispenser
And the dishwasher filter
I could cry just thinking about it SadBlush

I hate any 'fit 'em all in' type jobs. Putting saucepans away, loading the dishwasher, putting away the ironing. Mostly it's because everything's such a tight fit and we have rather more stuff than we need, but I find I can never quite put it all away quite well enough for everything to close comfortably. There's always a rogue handle sticking up, or a stray spoon vandalising the drawer. Whereas my DH and MIL can always find exactly the right micro-positioning to enable it all to lie flat or stand square and straight. It's a black art, definitely...Confused

I shouldn't have started this thread. It has made me realise that there are actually loads of these little jobs that mildly irritate me. Now I am more conscious of them, they are going to really piss me off.

Bastarding plugs, socks, soggy food strainer thingy, silver disks of woe. Grumble, grumble.

Changing the loo roll. I know I should put the cardboard tube in the recycling, but nah it goes in the bathroom bin. Which is too small to hold more than a couple of tubes. Why is life so hard???

Wiping the base of the loo and the back of it. Never do it often enough. Which means it collects fluff and dust and as it’s awkward shape i think it’s clean but then there is always now specs of wet dust everywhere and especially in the bendy thing at the back and round the plastic bolt covers and I just can’t even go on about this anymore as it annoys me already. So agree re opening new milk.
Changing the water filter in the jug
Picking up bits of food that fall on the floor (I am pregnant though, so not unreasonable)
One particular freezer drawer that gets stuck so I don't bother using it
Anything that involves a small amount of hot water (like getting a warm flannel to wipe toddler's hands) as kitchen tap takes stupidly long to get hot. Long enough that I'm always surprised that it's still freezing after several minutes even though I do this multiple times a day.

When I have to rehang everyone's jackets and coats because they have hung them from the hood, not the loop at the neck

I also hate the milk seal - can't bear to look at it for the length of time I need to before it gets buried in the bin.

Anything to do with freezers and sheds.

Unpacking the shopping and playing freezer Tetris is evil.

Getting my bike out of the shed (when it has somehow managed to get blocked by every other item in 10 hours) makes me cry.

Opening pre-packed things of sliced ham/cheese/whatever.

Fumbling at all four corners before finding the tab, then ripping shreds off because the bastarding thing never comes off properly. Giving up and stabbing to viciously with the knife and then having to pick all the shreds of plastic off, then wrapping it in cling film cos it won't reseal now and getting cling film stuck everywhere and oh my God I have to stop thinking about it now Angry Grin

There must be at least a billion of these little jobs that are just waiting to piss us off every flaming day.

Filling up the oil pourer? Washing up liquid? Hand soap? Toilet roll? Kitchen roll? Nappies? Baby wipes?

Ad nauseam blah blah blah.

oldlaundbooth · 20/10/2017 23:46

I won't even mention de-cantering enormous packets of chicken from wanker Costco into small, suitable freezer portions.

For the love of fuck.

Opening a new block of cheese. The dilemmas about whether the packet will then close nicely around remaining cheese, or whether to do battle with the cling film. Or whether to just keep eating the block of cheese so as not to instigate the cheese packet vs cling film dilemma 😂

Quite like taking the full bin bag out of the bin - it's satisfying, but I hate having to put the new one in. Having to fold it over the edge and push your hand down the middle so it doesn't all crumple in on itself 😠

Littlewingsoul! Oh my god yes!! Whole house full of hood hangers! We also have little low down hooks for the ds jackets... where does DH hang them? Up high. Above the little ones. By the hoods. I’m getting annoyed thinking about it.
