AIBU?

To wonder is it men or women making the decions on TW in female sports?

I just can't believe many women want this or think it's a good idea. I'd love a proper debate on it amongst sportsfolk, especially women. Would love to know what Serena, Paula Radcliff and other women who play sport think about it.

Judging from my online feminist group, there are a lot of women falling over themselves to accommodate trans rights and prove how intersectional they are, and if you try to discuss how women's rights are being eroded (or potentially eroded) then you'll be derided as transphobic, told to check your cis-privilege, then deleted.

The perspective is that trans women enjoy no physical advantage in sport. Trans women ARE women. They don't have male bodies: the word female now encompasses people with male sexual organs and bone structures etc, if they identify as female. So complaining about being forced to compete against someone who is physically male is both transphobic (minimized with mocking questions like: why are you so obsessed with other people's genitals?) and nonsensical, since all you are complaining about is competing against women with a certain physical variation, and if you're going to complain about that then why aren't you complaining about other variations, like cis-women who are taller competing in basketball or ethnic variations in physical form.

All of this is fucking bullshit, of course, and doesn't stand up to any argument whatsoever, but that's fine because you're not allowed to argue back, no matter how politely. You just get deleted, and the group admin make withering comments about how they can't believe how ridiculous transphobia is. It's creepy as hell and it's got a lot worse over the last few months.

So it wouldn't surprise me if there are plenty of women in sport who are promoting this, although I seriously doubt they're the women who will be on the field/pitch/track with the trans athletes themselves. They'll be the ones standing on the sidelines and patting themselves on the back for how fantastic they are, having reduced women (women's rights, sports, safety: everything) from a second tier position to a distant third in order to validate the personal identity of a vocal minority group, the loudest of whom give every appearance of hating women.

I suspect it's women as men don't seem to care one way or another.

This is another sad case of feminist infighting destroying the good work done decades before.

TRA isn't as powerful as lots of more radical feminists like to pretend. If there's any such thing as a patriarchy it's sitting back and laughing at what was once a worthwhile movement destroying itself!

Has there been a woman head of the IOC or IAA? Off to google. Most men I've seen comment are usually very much against it.
