I'm horrified. Anyone else seen the footage? I genuinely like James Corden, or at least I did when he did Gavin and Stacey. What on earth was he thinking?!

America has been very fond of him and he's gone and fucked it all up. What an idiot.

Not funny, though he was never funny anyway.

Over a decade before Harvey Weinstein sexual assault allegations came to light, Courtney Love was warning women about him. In footage from the red carpet of Comedy Central’s roast of Pamela Anderson in 2005, comedian Natasha Leggero can be seen asking Courtney Love: “Do you have any advice for a young girl moving to Hollywood?”.

“If Harvey Weinstein invites u to a private party at the Four Seasons, DON’T GO”

To have a mainstream comedian joke about this just shows how normalised that culture actually is. That a grown man with a wife and - I think - daughter can hear about this and think "I know, I'll tell a joke about sexual assaults on women, that'll bring the house down" is fucking nuts. He's clearly either a massive misogynist twat or he was drunk. And either way, he needs to apologise and give himself a fucking good talking-to.

I see Americans are finally realising he's a bellend

I'm not usually easily offended at all but this is just appalling!

He has apologised now.
He's always been a massive twat.

I can't believe he joked about it. I liked him when he was starting out in Gavin and Stacey and the History Boys, and thought he was quite funny then, but what he did tonight was awful and so badly judged.

(As a total aside, can anyone explain the Harvey Weinstein pot plant joke please? Why would he need to do it in a pot plant?!)

SootSprite · 15/10/2017 21:06

Yeah, he’s gone on twitter saying he meant no offence blah blah blah

Total twat, yeah, let’s make jokes about young women being forced into sexual ‘favours’....really fucking funny...cunt

One of the women said that he blocked her in a hallway, masturbated in front of her and ejaculated into a potted plant that was there

"A local reporter in New York said Weinstein forced her to watch him masturbate into a potted plant.

I'm sure we can all agree how hilarious that would have been.

I think you could always see that he was a misogynist. Not at all surprised

I think it's called career suicide? Meh, don't like him much anyway, rather overrated 🤷🏼‍♀️

That rape and sexual assault get so quickly reduced to a 'laugh' is disgusting.

My DH's friend stayed over last night and made a 'joke' in front of both our DDs that women shouldn't be allowed to drive. I said, "nope". I said, "not even as banter". And DH said, "mate, in light of current events, no, no sexist jokes".

This kind of misogynist 'joking' enables this behaviour to continue. It's funny, not horrifying. It should be horrifying.

I never 'got'James Corden. Always thought he played on the 'I'm chubby and cheerful' thing a bit too much.

Shown himself up to be a bit of a cunt.

Shame.

Always amazes me how quick slebs are to drop themselves in it. Shows him up for the self-satisfied tool he's been for a long time.

I wish it was career suicide Longdistance but Hollywood has shown time and time again that men can do / day pretty much whatever they like and all will be forgiven. Look at Johnny Depp.
