To pay £139.50 for Baleyage?

Or however you spell it! I’ve spent 5 hours at the hairdressers today after having seen an ‘oil slick’ effect baleyage in Pinterest. It’s like blues and violets over an icy brown base. It looks lovely and all but I couldn’t believe the price and the time it took! Have I been ripped off? There was a lot of work involved...had to have highlights put in, dried, then the colours, then washed, dried and cut.

Picture?

Hard to tell without seeing it.

Sounds about right I paid £105 not too long ago for a red balayage with a cut. If you're happy and it's a good job then that's the main thing.

Yes. Pictures or it didn't happen.

Seems about right. I pay about £80 for an all over colour

I pay £85 for a full head of foils and a base colour, cut and blow dry and that's at a slight discount so what you've paid sounds like a bargain, especially if you're pleased with it.

Sounds about right I think

I paid £110 last year.

There's kids of work in it, I was in the hairdressers for bloody ages

Did you not ask how much they charge?

Yup that's about right, I paid £120 and took four hours

Sounds right for a top salon colour in my city. Especially with the level of work it needed.

I paid £140 for mine not so long ago but it will save me money in the long run as I usually pay 100-130 for half head of highlights and cut or full head of highlights every 8 weeks. where as I won't need anything but a cut for at least 6 months.

Sorry, loads, not kids

I had a consultation first and they gave me a rough idea of price so it wasn't such a shock

Is that with cut included?

Yeah that sounds about right. Assuming it took 3-4 hours of time to paint it in and let it set? Mine was about $250 but really worth it because she did a very good job. So similar-ish to yours in pounds.

That’s a relief! Thank you! Am trying to take a decent picture of it! It does look fab and yes, it was cut as well.

Pretty much the same as what I pay, it certainly last longer than my highlights I can’t see me ever going back!!!!

Placemarking for the photo 😊

That's a great price then. I pay about £120 for cut and foils and balyage takes much longer than that to do.

I pay £140 for boring brown/blonde balayage and only takes 2 hours so that doesn't sound very expensive
Dying to see the photo, it sounds lovely!

fluffy if you don't mind me asking, what about if you have the odd grey hair? I def don't have much but do have the odd strand around the parting and front. I usually have highlights and then do the roots at home with an ash-blonde semi permanent rinse every 5 weeks or so, which covers everything up. I would go for balyage but am worried that it would leave my roots exposed for ages...

i think that's reasonable considering you were in there 5 hours! defo need to see a pic it sounds amazing. i paid £50 for a balayage a few months ago but it was just blonde and took 2 hours.

Yup sounds right to me. It's an expensive technique.

Doesn't sound excessive. I pay £100 for a cut and just to get my grey covered.

I pay £85 for highlights so sounds about right. How does it last so long? Do you not get roots?

I have balayage and pay £250 for that plus cut and blow dry.
