I apologise if this isn’t the right place to post but I need help.

My DS is 4and a half and started school this September. I am worried he doesn’t sleep enough as his bedtime is 7:30 pm and he is awake at 6am and sometimes 5:30am and doesn’t feel tired even after a long day at school. Google and the NHS website tell me he is not getting enough sleep. Aibu to be worried. Thank you in advance

Daughter number 2 never slept for long periods . She still doesn't sleep much now. Gp6said as long as she was eating, drinking, exercising and doing OK at school, not to worry.

If you are worried, talk to your GP or school nurse. Dies he ever seem tired? Is he active after school?

It's quite normal for your 4 year old to be tired after school anyway, I'd be surprised if they weren't. 7.30 is a good bedtime for a 4 year old, iirc (mine are teens now) as long as he isn't sneaking out of bed to play, and isn't being woken unnaturally by external noise or light, I wouldn't worry. Blackout blinds are a necessity for my eldest (20, and at uniGrin but the youngest still has periods of wakefulness. Maybe a chat with your school nurse will reassure you x x
