For a few months now I've heard a noise in the walls /floorboards.
I can only describe it as if a bee/wasp whatever was in.
It's driving me mad,it goes from the side of the bed,to the wall opposite then sometimes I hear it downstairs.
Boyfriend says I can't hear it,even when I say be quiet and listen.
He would say that if a herd of elephants were living there..
I wish I could attach a video with the noise.

Airlock in your pipes?

Draft getting in and making the floorboards hum?

Upload it on you tube and you can.

Check the pipes.

Slightly less irritating than the scary water hammer, that buzzing noise might be vibrations caused by a cold water tank refilling and setting up vibrations through the pipe network.

Or tinnitus?

Would it move from walls to floors that fast?

Do you have things plugged in by bed? I have very sensitive hearing and can hear electrical equipment buzzing.

Basilisk is more of a hiss than a buzz

I get tinnitus intermittently. It sounds like a wasp in one ear but appears to change direction from where it's coming from. Could it be that?

yanbu but is that really your question or are you more worried what the noise is?

I can hear electrical frequencies, is that a possibility?

also once I had an ongoing noise that I couldn't trace ...it got louder and louder....eventually got loud enough for me to identify and it was the fridge motor packing up slowly.

I could be open to that but my friend heard it on the video recording and thought it was a wasp.

It is a cat purring. Many yearsago cats were routinely placed in the walls of a house for good uck. You have a ghostly cat living in your walls, but it likes you and that's why it'spurring.

Well, if you have recorded it and other people can hear it, it's not tinnitus. Either your BF's hearing is simply less good than yours or he is being a knob.
It might be worth contacting a pest control company and playing the recording to them.fffffffffffffffffffffffffff
