I don't know. I was totally gripped by the house moving story. I can't stick that little Tony Welch git though or the unfailingly smug grin on the dad's face

SprogletsMum · 25/09/2017 17:31

I watched the starting school one the other day whee both of them managed to get toothpaste all over their jumpers and thought there's no way a normal mum would be that calm about that.
Then ds did it the next day and I was right, her reaction was not normal Grin

MrTrebus · 25/09/2017 17:34

Today is about topsy having appendicitis and the creepy smug looking day is not at all bothered. Its the weirdest programme I've ever seen. Teletubbies is better!

My partner has banned it, as I've banned Kate and Mim Mim. It's just awful. Though I do love the Hurrah For Gin's parody of it in her blog.

PumpkinPie2016 · 25/09/2017 17:37

They are far too smug and perfect for my liking!

The parents never lose their tempers no matter what happens and you never see them on the wine!

As an aside, I used to find 'me too' far too smug and perfect as well - no one is that happy going to work!

MrTrebus · 25/09/2017 17:39

I also cannot stand Charlie and Lola

And Katie Morag

I call it Smug and Smugger.

It really is the most awful programme on TV. Unfortunately my child loves it. Topsy went on to narrate Coco in Bing. I hate Coco too.

QueSera · 25/09/2017 17:42

I agree op. That show makes me want to smash the telly too. Everything's so perfect and twee.

Every time i see it, theyre moving house! For years!! Are there only a few episodes ever made?
And a friend told me the twins are actually supposed to be only 5yo, is this true? Impossible.

Don't even get me started on Tellytubbies though. And In the Night Garden - just wrong wrong wrong. Evil and wrong.

Give me Mr Bloom any day oo er

ElvisCriddlington · 25/09/2017 17:43

In my experience you can not just wipe tooth paste off a sweatshirt. No matter how much you scrub, and how big a damp patch you make on the school uniform it does not come off. In our house it would mean a change of jumper.

I want to see the next series though. Joy was pregnant at the end of the last series, maybe baby number three will break through her facade of calm and cheerful efficiency.

weebarra · 25/09/2017 17:45

I'm desperate for a new series. It's DD's favourite and if I see those bloody cupcakes land on the floor one more time I will hide the remote. It's not that DD gets loads of screen time, but it's all she wants to watch!

TheDiamondMumcrafter · 25/09/2017 17:52

Maybe she will have another set of twins!

MrTrebus · 25/09/2017 17:53

Oh god they'd be called Twiddle and Twaddle or something horrendous

OP posts:
MsPassepartout · 25/09/2017 17:58

They're very perfect. And their parents are always very calm.

I think the twins are meant to be 5. I think they've just started school, so they can't be any older.

KittysMyName · 25/09/2017 17:59

Why are they friends with loads of old men??

And don't get me started on how annoying the Grandma is with her "special huggles"

beela · 25/09/2017 18:00

Joy is up the duff???

DearMrDilkington · 25/09/2017 18:04

I don't mind Topsy, but Tim is very annoying. His so miserable, he just moans, screws his face up and shouts "muuuummmmy".

Don't get me started on Grandma and her twintastic grandma cuddles...

DearMrDilkington · 25/09/2017 18:05

Glad its not just me kitty Wink

CigarsofthePharoahs · 25/09/2017 18:07

Haven't watched the program in ages, but ds likes the Cebeebies games app and plays the Tipsy and Dim game a lot.
If anything, it's worse than the TV show.

knottybeams · 25/09/2017 18:10

In the books (spot the child of the late 70s) the younger sibling was an adopted sister named Tansy. She was a blatant attempt to make the cast more inclusive but not entirely sure where she was from. She was in "topsy and tim visit the doctor" but not the earlier weekday books. (guess who's granny has just done out the loft). Believe me, the books are even worse.

AmethystRaven · 25/09/2017 18:10

I am convinced that Mummy has several bottles of gin stashed in all those storage units.

I thought Dad was Lee Mack for ages! (why are they Mummy and Dad? It bothers me - Mummy and Daddy or Mum and Dad!)

Mummy and dad is true to the books. That bothered me as a preschooler!

Littlebatcalledlucille · 25/09/2017 18:15

Joy pops a few diazepam's I'd put money on it.

It's that episode with the cakes!
Hmm

EnglishRose13 · 25/09/2017 18:20

THEY AREN'T EVEN TWINS!
