AIBU?

Fucking Argos

Ordered 2 sofas to be delivered today, paid extra for a 2-6 slot. They turned up at 12.37!! Saw them pulling out of our road as I came back from walking the dog. Then left a voicemail telling me my delivery wouldn't happen today. Despite me paying for a certain slot they gave me a slot of 1-3. They were still bloody outside this! The delivery driver is apparently 'unwilling' to return so no sofas.

Old sofas are gone and customer services 'get where I'm coming from' but can't tell the driver to come back when he should have been here either for their slot or the slot I paid for and they'll discuss any compensation for the hassle when I've received the sofas. How I stayed calm I don't know. Can't have a midweek slot as we both work so no sofas for 2 fucking weeks!!!

Aibu to think Argos are utterly shoddy both with their delivery services and customer services?

I would be back on the phone demanding the sofas were delivered back to me today. Sounds like the delivery driver has taken a chance on you being home early (outside of the slot you have paid for) to knock off early.

I have a friend who works for Argos delivery and he tells me it's a regular thing they do.

Sounds like someone wants an early finish so decided he would start delivering earlier, I would be back on the phone.

We've phoned customer services and got it escalated to a manager there, and their delivery complaints line explained it all and been passed to someone else there. It's all computer says no, they just repeat we can't have the sofas today but the next available slot is 7th October. Apparently their delivery drivers get to do what they want and can't be told to turn round. Worst customer services I've ever had.

Phone then back and tell them if the sofas aren't in your living room by 6pm today you are cancelling the entire order.

Backie that would still leaves me without sofas, I'd have to start again with someone else which would be more than 2 weeks. They've just told me the driver said I was aggressive and that's why they won't come back. What a cunt.

Complain loudly on twitter!

Put it on twitter. I wouldn't buy the sofas either. About a million sofa companies can do better job than that. Tell them to shove them where the sun doesn't shine.

According to your OP you never saw or spoke to the driver - contest the 'aggressive' comment on this basis!

I'd gladly have that to avoid paying a penny to Argos after such treatment. But I'm incredibly stubborn. Grin

Did you even speak to the driver? And if he claims you did, then why would you phone to moan that you'd missed the delivery? Clearly the driver is an idiot.

I would cancel the order. I would rather sit on a bean bag for 2 weeks then give them my money.

I bought my sofa online from another company and got it within a week, I took a bit of a risk as they were quite cheap but the quality is much better than Argos (have had them almost 3 years and they still look new).

How could he think you were aggressive if you weren't even home for him to meet! Unbelievable!

That's clearly what he's said when he's been asked why he won't go back. I told customer services that I thought it was the tail wagging the dog that he was allowed to do this, the response I got intimidated it was a common problem Hmm

They've got some front to say you were aggressive to the driver. You didn't even speak to him.

Sounds like the driver said you were aggressive to him in order to 'justify' not going back to deliver and so he could knock off early.

Bad enough that they've cocked up but beyond out of order of them to suggest that you are to blame for it. Cheeky gits.

Bloody Argos delivery. I've never used it since I ordered a tv once, waited all day for them not to turn up. When I rang to complain, they claimed they tried to deliver but no one was in Hmm. Absolutely bollocks unless they were actual ninjas, I hadn't moved all day. They did redeliver the next day, but a bloody waste of time all around.

Your dogs tail wagging intimidated him? I read your last comment several times and wasn't sure I read it right.

So did you speak to him then if your dog apparently intimidated him?!?!
