That really - I've recently lost quite a bit of weight and am prob 2 - 3 dress sizes smaller now. I'm trying to clear out my wardrobe but thinking maybe I should keep some of the big clothes because they are so comfy -in case I get bigger again?--- WWYD?

Throw them out. Immediately.

Why would you get bigger, are you thinking pregnancy?

I'm having the same problem. I've filled two much needed drawers with clothes that are now 3 sizes too big.

I'm interested to see what others have done!

I have just bagged up loads and sent to charity shop.

I never want to see them again!! Very cleansing and now room for smaller size clothes that actually fit!!

Well done for the weight loss-now the fun of new clothes!!

Keep one big outfit as a reminder and chuck the rest.

If you ever feel yourself putting the weight back on look at that big outfit and remember why you lost it

Good idea sirzy- there is one pair of jeans that I honestly think you could fit another person in now Lol!

When I lost 8 stones I gave everything to charity shop. 5 years later when I’d put the weight back on I really regretted it.

Currently losing weight again and this time I will keep special pieces and put them into storage in the attic.

Could you get things altered?

If they're clothes that you like, I would keep at least some of them. I hate clothes shopping and really struggle to find things that fit and would be doubly gutted if I'd got rid of clothes I could wear if I did regain the weight.

I don't think the chance of staying slimmer is dependent on whether you would have something to wear IYSWIM? You're not going to think -it doesn't matter if I gain weight again, I'll have stuff to wear, are you?

This might sound strange but untill recently i would always buy clothes thay were too big,i couldnt except i was a size 6/8,

Its only since i went shopping with my partner and i actually tried the clothes on in the shops, i realised that clothes are to big make me look bigger and scruffy. So i have thrown all my old clothes out recently and bought new outfits and feel amazing.

Well done on the weight lose aswell .
I think you should throw/charity tour clothes as even if you did put the weight bk on clothes are cheap enough these days .

Keep your biggest item of clothing (having lost 7 stone I can do the "fit me down one leg of my fat trousers" thing and get rid of the rest.

I must admit to not doing this myself, I have kept things in the two sizes up, but we are currently TTC and so I'm hoping to be briefly back in my fat clothes in the next year or so. After we're done with babies, they will join the rest at the charity shops.

Keep them as house clothes or for doing the cleaning/gardening so you don't ruin your new clothes.

As someone who's weight fluctuates I wish I still had some of my fat clothes. If have stored them at my parents though!!

I'd go for keeping a select few and out of sight out of mind. I have done this although realistically can't see myself putting on weight for the next few yrs and by then my clothes might be outdated.

I have recently bagged up a lot of shoes as somehow my feet also shrank along with the weighloss, taken me a few yrs to accept it and now only have a handful of shoes.Confused

When I lost weight I kept one outfit as a this was how big I used to be reminder. I sold quite a lot and put the money towards a new wardrobe- it was quite cathartic. No going back I say!!

It depends, if you think it will make you feel unhappy remembering your previous size then chuck them.

If you're not that bothered and you have space, keep what you've worn the most/what you can use to lounge in. I'm forever buying 'lounging' clothes and regretting chucking out old stuff.

I would keep some out of sight if possible. I lost lots of weight over about an 18 month period. Had thrown out old smaller clothes and then found I had an overactive thyroid! Now back at old size and a limited wardrobe.

Toast that's totally me! For years I have been wearing size 20 - 22 when I was realistically more about an 18....
Now I'm finding it hard to grasp that 14's actually fit me!
However, I did the deed and 3 large sacks have gone to the charity shop - apart from 2 pairs of jeans that are for fat daysSmile
Thanks everyone for all your comments and advice Smile
