luvabella dolls

Having searched high and low for a luvabella doll I have finally tracked one down (last one in an indendant toy shop). All this 'must have' toy business has got me flumoxed. I know it's just a doll but no one wants their child to be disappointed on the big day. What really pisses me off is the fact that these dolls are now being sold on ebay for fifty pounds more than the shop price. Even the shops are reluctant to take a pre-order.
It is no better than ticket touts except in this case its toy touts.
So much for the season of good will

SWtobe -should be £99 which is what I paid but are being sold on ebay for £150/60. I think £99 is too much but have got swept away with it all (only grandchild).
Ghostly- You are right but having brought up a child alone I have always started early. In fact, for nieces and nephews children I always buy in January sales.
Martha-please don't even think it, the doll looks creepy as it is. Is sitting staring at me through cellophane box front. Might have to lock it in pantry before I go to bed now.

Apparently, its face will move with expressions which will make it even more creepy. Have turned it to face the wall and thrown a pot towel over it

I preordered one for my daughter at the start of September and it arrived last week. It's all she's talked about since she discovered they existed.

Glad you were able to find one OP!

Ah people have always done this. 10 years ago my eldest wanted a Barbie Pegasus. I ended up paying almost £20 more on eBay than it was in the shops.
It sucks but I guess it's part of living in a capitalist country.

Thanks unicorn. Smyth's etc stopped taking pre orders last week so I missed the pre order boat. But I will be ready next year. Grand daughter is three now so will not be able to get away with any old thing. Kids are so smart these days. I remember when a tiny tears was the best you could hope for.

Someone has put one on ebay for £300. I think this is such a greedy thing to do.
No one wants to see their child be disappointed at Christmas and the shop price is already a lot of money at £90. These profiteers are just taking advantage of the situation and should have a serious think about themselves.

Why is it £199 on Amazon ? - do they just make up these prices.
It's not the most attractive doll in the world IMO it's creepy as hell but I'm sure your DC will love it OP Grin

Apparently premature baby clothes fit the doll quite nicely. Tesco do a range called "Tiny Baby" and I've bought some cheap baby grows and a pack of premature nappies for my daughter to use with the doll. My daughter is also 3 and she's suddenly so into babies and undressing and then dressing all of her toys.

Agreed though, the doll is creepy AF!

Of course, and why shouldn't they? Good on them for taking note of the market and what's going to be popular.

You'd never succeed in business with that attitude, OP Grin

(And by the by, those dolls are creepy as fuck.)

I'm actually quite surprised by my 5yo, she loves dolls and has mentioned in passing that she would like one but that's been it.

I think it's horrible and I'm so glad father Christmas I got her the original doll she asked for - a cry baby.

I have got both of mine a couple of bits - bush babies and fingerling monkeys - that are also supposed to be on the must have list, I saw them and bought them before I knew though.

Did you watch the video with the woman feeding her scrambled eggs? Like, actually feeding her actual eggs? Where does the food go?
