Kiddicare!!!!! What kind of outfit is this?

I ordered a mattress last weekend. I paid for next day delivery. It didn't arrive so I emailed them. There's no phone number. They ignored me. I have emailed two more times and sent Facebook messages. The mattress turned up today covered in filthy packaging and left propped up outside my house. After removing the wrapping, there are several dirty marks and a small rip on the mattress itself.

What do I do? I can't make contact with this company. The phone number I managed to find online is disconnected. Have I been scammed? Well, yes, I have a mattress but presumably I'm stuck with it as I can't find a way to discuss sending it back in exchange for a clean one! Grrrrrr

Don't they have Facebook or twitter? Find them in there and ask your question public ally if they won't answer private queries.

What is the company? What is their registered address? Did you pay by credit card (report fraud etc)?

Coogee1 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:44:06

The company is Kiddicare.

Try this, there are a massive company and have a unit in Peterborough. So you've not been scammed don't worry,
Horrendous customer care though

dertyyuoih2 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:46:25

*they are

astoundedgoat Sat 09-Sep-17 11:48:50

I'm sorry - you said Kiddicare in the post title!

Gizlotsmum Sat 09-Sep-17 11:49:04

They were a family owned local business, expanded, sold to Morrisons who added extra stores, then closed lots of them. They still have a large store in Peterborough.

MiaowTheCat Sat 09-Sep-17 11:50:21

The online phone number that's disconnected could be one of their stores that closed (they pulled back their retail park presence to just have the main Peterborough store and online store) so I wouldn't worry about that.

dertyyuoih2 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:51:12

They are also on instagram / twitter so send via them too. Also if you comment on their most recent image / article they've posted on Facebook re the horrendous customer care etc someone will deffo get in touch

Coogee1 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:52:46

That's the number I rang. You get "call ended" before it even rings.

Coogee1 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:53:20

I don't have twitter or instagram but will try the Facebook thing.

I can't find the number for the new one but you can try and contact Peterborough Garden Park where they're located to see if you can get a number.

Coogee1 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:58:07

I've just looked at their FB page. Everything they post is comemented on dozens of times by disgruntled customers demanding to know where their items are, where their refund is, why nobody responds to their emails etc people typing in CAPITAL LETTERS!

Oh dear. I'm stuck with this mattress now aren't I?

Nanny0gg Sat 09-Sep-17 11:59:21

Not if you paid by CC

TheEdgeOfGlory266 Sat 09-Sep-17 11:59:50

Sorry. Found a number

Nanny0gg Sat 09-Sep-17 12:02:03

And I know it's tedious, but did you fill in their online contact form?

Mummyoflittledragon Sat 09-Sep-17 12:02:54

I have ordered from them in the past. Never had a problem.

Did you pay by credit card? I'm assuming nothing has changed from when I had a dispute many years ago and I had protection. I had to wait for a predetermined amount of time (3 months maybe) to try to resolve the dispute and was told if unresolved I would get a 50% refund from them.

Nanny0gg Sat 09-Sep-17 12:03:19

As an aside, aren't they compelled to have a telephone number for contact?

Adogcalledcat Sat 09-Sep-17 12:08:20

I had this exact problem a couple of weeks ago, it's infuriating. In the end I wrote a scathing review on the Trustpilot website and someone contacted me within a few hours. I was refunded within two days.

I honestly think if I hadn't done that then I'd still be waiting for someone to reply!

dertyyuoih2 Sat 09-Sep-17 12:20:40

Have you tried his email address? It's been posted on their instragram in response to disgruntled customers a day or so ago? Would be worth trying

skyzumarubble Sat 09-Sep-17 12:21:42

When I had my kids 7 years ago Kiddicare was so good - free next day delivery, great customer service, no quibble returns etc.

My sister has just had a baby and had nothing but problems with them.

ILiveUnderYourBed Sat 09-Sep-17 13:30:22

Please be careful phoning any numbers for kiddicare as I've heard that they charge lots for the privilege and will actually never answer the call. Had trouble with them a few months ago. 8 weeks to receive item and only received it then because I involved our credit card company. I will never buy anything from them again. They used to be really good a few years ago too.

MrTrebus Sat 09-Sep-17 13:45:26

I ordered a load of new teats a few days ago from kiddicare and they came quickly all nicely packaged etc so I thought they were a great company but I don't think I'll order anything else. I use John Lewis mainly, most baby stuff is all the same price everywhere anyway but I think you get better service from JL. You can claim the money back from your bank potentially but not as fraud as a PP said as that would be fraud as it's a lie, you did make the purchase therefore it's not fraud. You can phone and explain and start a dispute, even with a debit card.
