House-sitting and accidentally damaged spatula - help needed please :)

Aargh feel so frustrated at myself. Feel really bad.

Currently house-sitting, and put the dishwasher on earlier. Just went to take the things out of the dishwasher and noticed that the spatula (with a silicone 'head') has a chunk missing from it.

I realised it's because I (bloody stupidly) put the spatula next to a carving knife, and the knife must have sliced a bit off the spatula during the dishwasher cycle.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a similar spatula from please? Have no idea where it's from, and would like to replace it. Frantically Googling orange spatulas at the moment because of my own stupidity Blush So far, I've only been able to find ones with silicone handles rather than metallic handles.

Thanks everyone!!

Range, it's a cheap kitchen implement - the fact that you're house sitting far outweighs the loss of that.

Honestly, don't worry about it.

But try Asda Wink

Relax, it's a silicone spatula not a ming vase. If you can't find one, offer to pay to replace it. Accidents happen Smile

Oh bless you. Don't panic too much. It was an accident.

I don't know where you can get an identical one from but if you're really worried just go to T K Maxx and buy a similar one.

Am pretty sure I have a blue one like that that I bought in Tiger.

As long as you own up to it and replace it, there won't be any problem. Accidents happen!

And if you were house sitting for me and it got damaged I wouldn't give it a second thought!

You're probably better to google silicon spatula. There's some at Waitrose, John Lewis, Lakeland, lots of stores!

I wouldn't worry about it though.

If you were house sitting for me I wouldn't care two hoots, it's still useable. I'm constantly melting mine 😂

I'm sure they'd be happy with any replacement it's was an accident after all

I love that we've got OP frantically trying to figure out how to replace a silicone spatula at the same time as another thread's OP asks WIBU to not replace an ipad her child broke!

It's a nice spatula, to be fair. Do they have matching utensils?

Report
nikkylou · 23/08/2017 00:03

As long as they don't have a while matching set, just buy a simliar one. I have home sense locally that have a whole range, or as mentioned the range.

I have a wonderful house sitter who stays when I go away. There is no way I would risk losing them over a kitchen implement that is easily replaced.

I've done house sitting in the past and accidents like this are always accepted without trouble. In fact the owners were upset that I worried. They'll be glad for your honesty.

I googled some more and found an article which shows identical ones from tiger, for about £3 so I don't think it's a mega expensive one Smile

Jux your link says 'minimum order 1000 pieces' which might be rather more spatulas than the OP requires!

Ah yes, I didn't notice that! Maybe, though, it will give OP a clue as to where to get one on further investigation.

I expect the second link has some ghastly thing like that too, but it is Amazon..... Grin

Look first at shops that have branches near their house.
