OH thinks I am mad! Tonight I have not felt 100 % and had a cheese sandwich with some crisps for dinner.

We do this every now and then if we can't be bothered to cook.

We then talked about our absolute favourite meal ever and I realised mine is actually a cheese sandwich and crisps.

He agreed it is nice but absolute favourite?? Nooooo!!

YANBU I think sandwiches are amongst the best foods in the world

shoofly · 20/08/2017 22:27

Sandwich, crisps, glass of wine. Perfect Smile

PodgeBod · 20/08/2017 22:27

Really? Your absolutely favourite, if-I-were-on-Death-Row meal would be a cheese sandwich and crisps? I'm with your dp. It's a can't-be-bothered meal at best.

highinthesky · 20/08/2017 22:28

Nothing abnormal here. Ask the millions of folk that have a sandwich and crisps for lunch every day!

Oysterbabe · 20/08/2017 22:28

It's a nice meal but it's no fish and chips or roast lamb and mint sauce.

Redberets · 20/08/2017 22:28

Podge Surely it depends on the type of cheese?

WishingOnABar · 20/08/2017 22:28

Absolutely fine. You get extra points if the crisps went inside the sandwich 😁 I once worked with someone who admitted that she couldn't be bothered to make dinner the night before so just ate an avocado and a pot of yoghurt

OwlinaTree · 20/08/2017 22:30

I think I prefer a crisp sandwich to a cheese sandwich.

Prawn cocktail walkers with white buttered bread, yum yum!

Pumperthepumper · 20/08/2017 22:31

A cheese, crisp and pickled onion sandwich is the nicest thing, I haven't had one for ages!

PodgeBod · 20/08/2017 22:32

Redberets I'm not budging on my stance unless it becomes cheese on toast, which is commonly accepted as a food of the gods.

SabineUndine · 20/08/2017 22:34

It's my standard Saturday lunch-in-the-middle-of-housework. Can't say it's a favourite though. Fuel not a treat.

Jezzifishie · 20/08/2017 22:34

A cheese sandwich is fine, but a toasted cheese sandwich is food of the gods!

FlakeBook · 20/08/2017 22:35

I don't like sandwiches!

Jezzifishie · 20/08/2017 22:36

podgebod - Great minds think alike! ;-)

My "tea" tonight = white wine, pack each of cheese and onion and prawn cocktail crisps, a chocolate mousse, and two mini own brand "milky bars" and "aeros" each, all eaten while watching an episode of "Drifters" on All4. #junktastic. Blush Grin

Poshjock · 20/08/2017 22:47

I could't possibly comment. I ate fridge shrapnel tonight.

My favourite meal is macaroni cheese. It's hardly gourmet but it is soul food!

UrsulaPandress · 20/08/2017 22:48

Each to their own.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 20/08/2017 22:49

The point of your favourite Death Row meal, is that it is your favourite thing to eat. And whether that is a cheese butty with a bag of Quavers, or a lobster Thermidor, it is subjective and doesn't need to be approved of by anyone else.

Fwiw my Death Row meal is a spit roasted pork knuckle with mash and the pork juices, and lots of crackling. (If I could import it I know exactly where from, as well, a restaurant in Dusseldorf).

RickOShay · 20/08/2017 22:50

my favourite food is children's party food, basically sandwiches and crisps with the odd pineapple and cheese chunk thrown in, then cake and a cup of tea for pudding.
I am with you all the way. Grin

Seren85 · 20/08/2017 22:52

I love sandwiches. Tuna in sunflower oil on crispy bread with salt and vinegar crisps for me.

blackteasplease · 20/08/2017 22:52

Salt and vinegar crisps inside a cheese sandwich are goodA

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 20/08/2017 22:54

Perfectly acceptable. Though you can't really be unreasonable for liking or not liking a certain meal.

I do like a good cheese sandwich. Freshly made. Nice soft white bread. Real butter, right to the edge of the bread. Decent cheese. Maybe some coleslaw or a bit of salad. Not so fussed about the crisps, though a cheese and Dorito sandwich is quite nice.

One of my favourite chemo meals is a cheese and Nando's sauce sandwich Grin
