The Kiboomers

Baby Bumblebee

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Cup hands together as if holding bee)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
(Shake hands as if just stung)

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Find more lyrics at
Ooh! It's yucky!
(Open up hands to look at 'mess')

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won't be mad at me!
(Hold hands up)

IANBU this is surely not an example to set to children to whom do I address my complaint?

Everyone knows that they "lick up" the baby bumble bee (and are disgusted that there is no salt!).

ThePinkOcelot Sun 20-Aug-17 21:06:56

Sorry if I'm being thick, but eh?!

Phosphorus Sun 20-Aug-17 21:07:23

It's kind of funny.

Why do you want to complain?

SheSaidHeSaid Sun 20-Aug-17 21:08:37

Yuck. What a horrible rhyme.

Butterymuffin Sun 20-Aug-17 21:08:58

I'm guessing you didn't approve of Humpty Dumpty either.

Glumglowworm Sun 20-Aug-17 21:10:45

You'd be horrified at the versions where they lick up the baby bumblebee and then sick up the baby bumblebee

abigailgabble Sun 20-Aug-17 21:10:47

humpty dumpty isn't out in back gardens and parks minding its own business until someone's toddler comes along and squishes it like in the song angry

JohnLapsleyParlabane Sun 20-Aug-17 21:10:58

Ahh that takes me back! We used to sing that at Brownies.

Glumglowworm Sun 20-Aug-17 21:11:29

Kids LOVE gross songs like that btw so YABVU

cheesydoesit Sun 20-Aug-17 21:11:29

Aw I love this! We used on sing it with the Cubs, definitely need to eat the bumblebee for maximum gross factor though!

IHeartKingThistle Sun 20-Aug-17 21:11:39

We sang that at Brownies in the '80s!

That was before we knew bees were important and endangered and should not be squished. Just make sure your DC know never to squish one!

abigailgabble Sun 20-Aug-17 21:11:51

it's not gross it's bloody barbaric!

Slowcookerheaven Sun 20-Aug-17 21:12:17

Spout, handle, lid of metal ...

AdalindSchade Sun 20-Aug-17 21:13:29

THey lick up the baby bumblebee in our version and then sick it up again grin

SheSaidHeSaid Sun 20-Aug-17 21:13:36

I'm surprised this doesn't encourage kids to try to catch bees with their hands.

Poor bees sad

WhamBarsArentAsFizzyAsTheyWere Sun 20-Aug-17 21:14:06

Calm down op.

Just teach your children not to squash bees, wind bobbins, row a boat down a stream, walk through a jungle or anything else potentially dangerous that may be in a children's song.

Heathcliff27 Sun 20-Aug-17 21:14:09

You probably won't like "ye cannae shove yer granny aff a bus" either then wink

Slowcookerheaven Sun 20-Aug-17 21:14:47
