AIBU?

To bra or not to bra?

That is the question?

Just had a little spat with DH about me not wearing a bra during weekends. Obvs wear one to work, but find them really uncomfortable and quite frankly don't want to wear one. I am of the larger boob variety.

I of course wear proper clothes 🙄 and I don't feel like I'm being indecent but he feels like I am.

Who's BU?

Your body - your choice - he doesn't get to dictate!!!

(Currently braless - its Sunday!!!)

Say you'll wear one as long as he wears a wired pouch to keep his testicles from drooping too low when he gets old.

Around the house then I'd do as you wish but if I were going out then I'd definitely put a bra on.

I have relatively large boobs and anything I wear braless looks bloody awful

Get one of those belly-dancing bras with sequins and tassels and dance around in it at the weekends.

He's being unreasonable. Untether your boobs to your heart's content, they're yours after all!

Do you mean no bra at home or even when you go out?

Report
BeingMePls · 06/08/2017 11:45

Sonjadog- he would love that!

I mean no bra out. But I don't wear tshirts or anything that makes going braless look awful. I always wear dresses and you really cannot tell as they are cut very well.

I'm a 38J - I've just popped one on because my nips kept hitting the table when I was playing a game with DH. Otherwise I'm swinging free. My DH has no comment other than the occasional 'you really do have massive norks' and the odd affectionate grab which of course I love 🙄

Your breasts - your choice.

MrsFezziwig · 06/08/2017 11:46

It's entirely your choice. Having said that, I too have large boobs & find it more uncomfortable not wearing a bra for an extended period of time (bad for large breasts as well not to be supported properly). As well as my underwired ones which give better support and shape I therefore have softer non-wired bras which I wear around the house.

Braless out? I wouldn't but mine are too big. It really depends on how you feel but I'm a little less sympathetic if it's out and about...

38D - does that make a difference?

Who wears a bra at home??!!!

Erm....me? The only time I don't wear one is when I have my pyjamas on. I'm an F cup and don't find them uncomfortable, are you sure you're wearing the right size?

MrsFezziwig · 06/08/2017 11:51

And if it's hot, don't you get really sweaty if your boobs are hanging down your chest?

Report
JennyBlueWren · 06/08/2017 11:51

As a larger chested lady I wear a bra all the time (even in bed -I do change them!) as they just feel so uncomfortable without and get in the way of anything.

Do you wear underwired bras? If so try unwired bras (if that's the correct term). So much more comfortable but still supportive.

It's your business if you wear a bra. It is not a compulsory item of clothing, and if it is uncomfortable it is ridiculous to expect you to wear it. I personally prefer being bra-ed as I feel a bit exposed without it, but its not indecent to allow your boobs to be their natural shape.

I go braless at home
I too have larger ones. I hate bras.
I bought some vest tops with a little support for around the house too and popping to the shops etc
I do like the shape a bra gives me with outfits. But Jesus if I could get away with not wearing a bra and still look ok I would go braless everyday!!

much like high heels, I do like how they make me feel but I wouldn't wonder around the house in them of a weekend!

He is being unreasonable if he expects you to wear one. Does he not like looking at your body naked! Because guess what that's fucking braless too

I hate a bra and never wear one if I can get away without one. I buy nipple covers from Boots, they are a god send to avoid nipple pointing under clothes.

*I do have smaller boobs.

I never understand it when people say bras are necessary for support. We evolved without them, and have only had them for the past 100 ish years.

Any excuse not to. It's fine! Your body.

Admittedly I am rather smaller of nork than you but I have more or less given up proper bras entirely! I am more often to be found in a stretchy lace bralet (basically a pull on crop top) and only wear a proper bra if it's truly neccecary for the aesthetics of a particular outfit. I actually like the more natural shape and think most clothes hang better.

I'm a c cup, and I hardly wear bras anymore. The longer I go without one, the stronger my pecs get, and the higher my boobs are. Weird but good.

I am a DD/E and personally I couldn't get away with not wearing one while I am out and about. However, I think it's completely up to you.

You could always get one of the 'comfort bras' from Asda. They are about 6 quid I think and really are comfortable. But like I said, do it only if you want to :)

Ur bust, ur rulez Hun.

But I'm with Mrs Fezziwig meself. I cannot stand the feeling of an unfettered knocker. I have soft cup bras for lounging at home, and proper ones for leaving the house in.
