AIBU?

To never be alone with the children

Except for photos...

Beyonce and Jay-Z have 8 nannies.

For 3 children.

Blue Ivy gets 2 each and goes to playschool. The reins get 1 each working 8 hour shifts because they wake at different times.

So there's literally 24/7 cover for the kids. Presumably if on their 100k contracts they decide to have a holiday there are spare nannies on standby or overtime for the others...

I get they want extra help atm. Twins, C Sec etc. But 3 each??

Do they ever just sit and play like a regular family?

It makes you wonder what its like growing up with a small army of nannies on constant rotation and your parents quite happy to just delegate it all

If I had twins and could afford 24 hour cover I would! You have no idea how involved they are as parents.

LaurieMarlow · 27/07/2017 09:03

Sounds tempting to me too. It would be lovely to have that kind of support. It doesn't necessarily make them less involved parents.

KC225 · 27/07/2017 09:03

I had prem twins on two hour feeds, I would have sold a kidney for 2 night nannies

MrsJayy · 27/07/2017 09:05

If i was a multi millionaire I would have a fleet of nannies too a toddler and twins oaft

VestalVirgin · 27/07/2017 09:06

If I could afford it, I would have a child and hire a nanny.

One nanny per child. More is over the top, imho. The children need someone who is there all the time, with whom they can bond. I am not sure how having three carers each (not counting the parents) will affect the children.

lmer · 27/07/2017 09:06

And how does their family life impact you in anyway exactly?

MrsJayy · 27/07/2017 09:07

Some of the nannies will be personal security staff though

ghostyslovesheets · 27/07/2017 09:14

Must be nice having celebrity friends though OP - how did you meet them?

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:15

Because I'm not sure if I'm more jealous of the 8 nannies or the 100k job Imer
MrsJayy theyre9on 8 hour shifts as Nannies so no overlap in shifts so I assume security is additional

I wamt nannies stamps feet.....

Screwinthetuna · 27/07/2017 09:18

How do you know this?

It doesn't surprise me though. They're all about 'Black Lives Matter' so how about spreading some of their cash around so that said African Americans can afford to feed their children. They're so obnoxious

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:19

KC225 I would totally understand a night nanny with twins. Or even 2 if they sleep at different times. But 24 hour cover per child on 100k for all 3?

OP posts:
inkzooka · 27/07/2017 09:24

screwinthetuna Not actually a big fan of them but Beyonce has done an awful lot for charity and has a foundation set up to support people. She also did a lot of fundraising for natural disasters, Jay Z has made a foundation to support disadvantaged youth and help get them education, blah blah blah they do do charity work and spread their money out so

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:24

Just imagine the poor Nannies in a year calling "Sir, Sir - come and have y oh r Nanny changed Sir"

LTBiscuit · 27/07/2017 09:24

Well, they probably work quite a bit! I had a room full of childcare professionals looking after my little ones for 8 hours a day! In a preschool Confused does that not count?

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:25

And they hired 6 Nannies at 100k each so theyrl're definitely creating jobs Hmm

RhubardGin · 27/07/2017 09:26

How do you know all of this?

Are these facts or just stuff you've read off the net or daily mail?

Hmm

Booboobooboo84 · 27/07/2017 09:26

Well if they are on 100K they aren't 'poor nannies' are they? Why do you have such a problem with it?

arethereanyleftatall · 27/07/2017 09:26

Yabu.
They might spend loads of time with their dc.
My rich friends had 24 hour help.
If for example the baby woke at 5am, the 'help' would prepare the bottle, then bring the baby plus the bottle to my friend in bed who would feed her dd.

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:28

Unless it was 121 care and they followed you home and stayed the night, not really the same. Even if you consider 121 24/7 hired childcare a positive, which clearly they do, it's incomparable with preschool

A friend has 3 nannies (one live in) for two children.

What I've noticed is - she has fantastic playtime with them, because she is well rested, has time for her own interests etc. And doesn't need to worry about cooking/cleaning etc because that's all done for her.

She spends time with her kids whenever she is free and wants to, but knows she always has back up if she wants some time off.

Don't see a problem with it tbh.

Theymisheardme · 27/07/2017 09:29

I'm secretly Beyonce wondering if iabu

Hah! Well it's a yanbu from me, Beyoncé.

loveliesbleeding1 · 27/07/2017 09:31

Sad really, bloody hard work but you don't get that time back,it's the hard times that bond you with your children as well as the good.

defineme · 27/07/2017 09:32

I think my kids appreciate the time i spend playing with them and i could do a lot more of that if I wasn't bloody cleaning, cooking etc. Sounds a heavenly set up!
