In the wider scale of things, more a minor irritation than a problem but would be interested to know if I'm the only one finds this irritating. Recently retired from teaching, so got lots of time for watching tv, among many other things, both quality and mindless which I never had as a teacher. There have been some pretty good thriller /crime serials on, which I record and binge watch every so often. I'm pretty partial to the Walter, presents selection. as well as my Corrie indulgence which I tend to record and fast forward out the adverts. I've noticed though, at the end of every episode of these serials, there's a short run through of what's going to happen in the next episode. Drives me nuts. I don't want to know. It spoils the pleasure if I know what's going to happen. I'm getting better at averting my gaze when flicking through the TiVo screens to watch what I've recorded. For,example tonight's Corrie, the press play screen informs me that"Cracks open up between Robert and Michelle. Torah keeps a secret from Peter. Can Billy and Todd get their girl?" Oh right. Now I know what's happened, is there's any point in watching it?
Really in to the BBC 4 Spanish drama serial, I know who you are but every episode ends with what's going to happen in the next episode. At least I can shut my eyes as I don't speak Spanish but when watching the Loch, regularly ended up watching the next week's preview by mistake. Has telly always been like this or is this a new thing to pander to the box set generation who can't wait for the next episode?

It's been like it for a long while, it's a hook to get people to watch the next episode. Ie if you don't, you won't know how it's resolved.

It doesn't bother me too much in the main, but I do remember being really annoyed many years ago when the cliffhanger of the next episode of one series (no idea, now, what it was) was shown, at least once, in the preview. Not only did this piss me off for the obvious reason, but, because I knew that was coming up I was expectIng and even bigger cliffhanger at the end, so felt let down that that was it. Plus, I'd spent the episode looking for clues that the storyline was going to go further than it did. Does that make sense? It's the same with books that have extra chapters of others at the end, so you think you've got another 30 pages left to include another twist then discover that no, that is, actually the end. So annoying!

But you don't know what's happened at all, you only know a tiny bit of it.
There is, however, never a point to watching the unmitigated horse shit that is Coronation st and the like!

It doesn't bother me too much but I do hate spoilers. I was Shock when after an episode of Corrie once they said something along the lines of 'coronation street will be back at 9pm tomorrow when we will find out who kills tina'. Before Tina was killed. Thanks itv 😑
