AIBU?

Cardboard toilet tubes

I'll start by saying I'm not BU - I need a rant.

Do all DP's/DH's struggle with the concept of putting the empty cardboard toilet roll tubes in the bin? Or is it just my bumbling idiot of a darling husband? It's normally him who empties them during his half hour dumping sessions.

In my house, you have no way of getting out of our bathroom door without passing the bin - there's no goddamn excuse!

Considering trying to make a point by not putting them in the bin when I spot them, but genuinely think we may become overrun.

YABU to put them in the bin when they should be recycled Grin

It appears to be a widespread problem - we collect them on the cistern!

Crispsheets · 26/07/2017 11:13

Ha!
My 18 year old had an ensuite and does this.
I clean his bathroom every month...he does it day to day... and last time found 22 empty tubes. Which I put in his bed.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 26/07/2017 11:14

I once decided that I wasn't going to pick up any more of the blasted things and waited to see what would happen.
Of course we all know what happened...I cracked at 14 of the buggers and picked them up myself.

LostInShoebiz · 26/07/2017 11:15

I have the opposite problem. Mine will trek across the house to put them in the bin rather than pop them in the recycling basket outside the bathroom door.

Fiona1984 · 26/07/2017 11:16

I can't say anything because I'm equally as guilty lol. Sometimes I get annoyed that the new toilet roll hasn't been put in the holder, then remember it was me who put it there.
Peeing on the toilet seat does annoy me though (DSS9, not DP).

Rollonbedtime7pm

The OP didn't say that it's not a recycling bin.

m4rdybum · 26/07/2017 11:18

YABU to put them in the bin when they should be recycled

I am naughty in that respect!

Thank god I'm not alone!

My sons, aged 23, 22 & 19, share a bathroom which they are supposed to clean and keep tidy. They appear to be incapable of putting loo roll tubes in the bin. When challenged they said they are trying to set a record for how many they can leave around the bathroom before someone cracks and throws them out Confused

Apparently the record is 34.

Crispsheets I am going to use that tip and put them in their beds.

Crispsheets · 26/07/2017 11:25

DRAMA....it was a shock to his girlfriend 😁
I put them under the fitted sheet and in the pillow cases

m4rdybum · 26/07/2017 11:26

Apparently the record is 34.

I can't handle 1 - I'd hate to see how I reacted to 34!

I sympathise! We have a bin on the left hand side of the toilet (it wont fit to the right) and without fail my DP will throw the empty roll on the floor on the left hand side. He doesn't even have to move to put it in the bin, just turn 90 degrees the other way... His argument - at least he changes the loo roll well I should bloody think so as he's the one with 2 DC who also need to wipe their arses

viques · 26/07/2017 11:29

Anyone else worried aboutcrispsheets son's busy bowel? 22 rolls of loo paper in a month. Is he dressing up as an Egyptian mummy or something?

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 26/07/2017 11:36

Um viques perhaps they prefer not to wank into a crispy sock 😂
Sorry drama for giving you unpleasant thoughts 😀

LunaMay · 26/07/2017 11:37

We just finished school holidays here, i have around 9 of the buggers sitting on my window sill right now. I'm trying to wait for the main culprit to come back this weekend so i can have a nag but i dont think ill be able to wait that long Grin

Crispsheets · 26/07/2017 11:37

He does use a lot 😁
But his gf stays over most nights.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 26/07/2017 11:38

And crispsheets DS with his 22 rolls. Your username made me rofl, given the situation.😂

Crispsheets · 26/07/2017 11:38

Laughing at busy bowel
Maybe they use it for bondage

Birdsgottaf1y · 26/07/2017 11:38

I couldn't live with someone who didn't recycle.

My children had recycling drummed into them, it was non negotiable.

""Anyone else worried aboutcrispsheets son's busy bowel? 22 rolls of loo paper in a month. Is he dressing up as an Egyptian mummy or something""

He's just keeping his right hand well exercised. At least he isn't using socks.

Crispsheets · 26/07/2017 11:41

I think he has an active sex life without wankingGrin

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 26/07/2017 11:41

Glad that birds has the same idea.

MiniMummy576 · 26/07/2017 11:53

Oh good Lord, the empty toilet rolls!

Sometimes I don't pick them up, just to see how long it would take DH to notice and ACTUALLY take them to the recycling bin.

I took out a full sodding box to the bin the other evening while DH was in the garden.

"Wow," he said. "Is that full of loo rolls? Where did they come from?"
I looked him in the eye and in a utterly deadpan voice said, "The bathroom."
"Christ, we use a lot of loo roll!" he exclaimed and went back to gardening.
Hmm

My ploy failed.

Olympiathequeen · 26/07/2017 11:54

Shock. My DH does this too! I thought he was the only lazy sod to do this. A bin is inches away from his hand yet he throws it on the floor! Does he think the toilet roll fairy picks it up?

I have a little recycling basket under the loo roll holder.

MerricatsHouse · 26/07/2017 12:08

We've had to train ourselves to get rid of them immediately because DS (4 yo) is obsessed with collecting them. His toy kitchen has about a million of the bloody things. If he spots one before we chuck it, game over. But still the house is full of them and I have to sneak round throwing them out in secret Hmm

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/07/2017 12:10
