Microblading AIBU!

Prepared to be absolutely flamed for this as it is a very 'first world' problem but I'd be interested in people's experiences so here goes...

I recently had my eyebrows microbladed and semi permanent eyeliner applied. This costed £800. Not cheap but I was really pleased with the results initially.

You are supposed to have a 'top up' applied where the technician repeats the procedure to allow the colour to set. This is done 6 weeks after.

They now shouldn't be perfect but they're not. I have no issues with the quality of the work, which is faultless, but it is own patchy and has faded enormously. I need to fill in my brows and the eyeliner has faded almost completely on the bottom.

I contacted her today and she said she would happily do a touch up for £100 per area (£200 in total!!) and this only happens 1% of the time (ie the fading). And worst of all, I can't get an appointment for TEN WEEKS as she is so fully booked!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have experience of this procedure?? I appreciate that she has a business to run but is this right?!

That should read: they now SHOULD be perfect but they're not.

Did you follow the correct aftercare? Did you apply the balm and keep them out of direct sunlight? x

Patriciathestripper1 · 24/07/2017 20:18

Did it hurt? I would imagen it is like the hairdressers where if they fuck up a colour they put it right. No cost.

Thanks for the response. Yes, followed advice completely. No sunlight, didn't get them wet etc. In my first session she gave me an oil to apply towards the end of the healing process but come to think of it, not after I'd had my top up. It didn't occurred to me at the time but I wonder if that could have contributed to it.

I am also prepared to be corrected - my understanding was that after this procedure you wouldn't need to 'fill in' with pencil. That's right isn't it? I hate complaining!!!

Patricia, that was what I thought. Apparently not as this is a "rare case" and she's acting like she's doing me a favour by only charging me £200!

Hence why I'm wondering if I need to make more of a fuss!

Tbh microblading sounds shit. I know a few people who've had it done and it faded really quick and was really expensive

Sorry not that helpful ...but you've deffo had a shit service, she should fix it for you free if you're not happy

Kaytejones · 24/07/2017 20:26

Thanks - that's kind of what I'm thinking.

Thing is, I have several friends who have had this done and theirs is perfect several months later!!!

And I really did my research with this, the lady I saw is highly experienced and apparently very good.

If you have followed the correct aftercare then it is up to her to explan why the results are poor/not what you expected. Did she ask you to sign anything before having it done?

They do fade but I know two people who have had this and are happy with them and they look full and tidy without being filled in.

Kaytejones · 24/07/2017 21:44

That's a helpful suggestion. I will ask her tomorrow. Yes I did sign something, can't remember what and stupidly cannot find my copy of the document.

Doesn't sound right to me! Mine are hair stroke and powder dot tattooed rather than micro bladed but are perfect still after almost 3 years since they were last done. She needs to get you in ASAP to have a look at them then book you in shortly after that to touch them up for free anything less than that is not acceptable customer service levels. You should NOT need to powder them/touch them up yourself until well over a year since they were done. Must say I've heard of this a couple of times with micro blading though, should have gone for tattooing instead a fantastic tech will do just as subtle a job.

MessyHouse91 · 24/07/2017 22:08

Mine faded really quickly, after 4 weeks I started drawing them in again - luckily I hadn't paid anywhere near as much as yours. I did think that maybe it was because I had it on the cheap and you get what you pay for, but maybe that's not the case.
