Neighbours washing line

I live in a flat, each flat has a it's own washing line outside of the front door, there are 5 flats on my floor, the neighbour 3 doors down keeps hanging her washing up outside my house, so she's choosing not to use hers and to pass 2 other neighbours to hang it on my line!! I've spoken to her about it but she said she's lived her for 5 years and has always done it, and basically is going to continue to do it, I don't like having washing hanging up outside my front door so I don't use it for mine so I sure don't want to have to see others washing hanging up, also cos of the way the lines are it means you have to literally walk through the washing to get in and out, she hangs her husbands pants outside my door and all sorts! Wibu to report her to the council and would they do anything?? Wwyd?

Take it off, put it by her door and put your own on.

Tell her first that you will remove it if she uses it, though.

MyheartbelongstoG · 23/07/2017 11:09

Take it down?

dementedpixie · 23/07/2017 11:11

Take the line down?

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 23/07/2017 11:12

gasps in horror

Not her husbands pants Shock

abigamarone · 23/07/2017 11:13

Invest in some bin bags, bag washing up, put bag outside her door.
Although, if you don't use it why not take it down?

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2017 11:13

YY take the line down, especially if you don't use it yourself...

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 23/07/2017 11:14

If you don't use it, take it down.

I can't visualise this, it is like a tower block with outside covered walkways?

Sparklepants · 23/07/2017 11:14

I need a pic or a diagram as I'm not getting how it's all set up.

flumpybear · 23/07/2017 11:14

I'd do what
Others have said either take it down or remove her washing and plonk it outside her house in a carrier bag

Cheeky entitled cow!! Perhaps you get better sun, but tough luck!!

Supermagicsmile · 23/07/2017 11:14

Take it down! Or everytime she does it move it off!

TheFlamingo · 23/07/2017 11:15

Well I have started seeing someone recently and he was confused why I had men's pants hanging outside my house, anyway i can't cut the line as it's also my next door neighbours line (not the neighbour in the op) so it's a long line the stretches between hers and mine you can take it down to put the washing on the put it back up on the hook when you've done (hard to explain) but once it's on the hook it's two different lines so my side and her side

Hang sipping wet massive sheets, duvets and curtains from tne line outside her door.

Or make leaflets featuring pictures of the pants, post them up everywhere with a big Lost Property headline and 'does anyone recognise these pants?'.

Paint non drying paint along the top of your washing line!

Tip itching powder into the Pants

Or, you could just take down the line outside your flat.

SillyMoomin · 23/07/2017 11:16

Bin and pit by her door. Every. Single. Time

TheFlamingo · 23/07/2017 11:17

Yes it's a block of flats and the walkway is on the outside

Put some pretty bunting all along the line. Write keep off on it Smile

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2017 11:19

You surely just explain to new boyfriend that you have a strange neighbour?

TheFlamingo · 23/07/2017 11:23

I did explain it was the neighbour but he was obviously abit surprised at first same way I would be if I saw women's knickers hanging above his front door, I only moved in in December so no washing was out at the time, it's been since spring/summer that she's started doing it again

Justhadmyhaircut · 23/07/2017 11:28

Def put a string of bunting up!!

SaucyJack · 23/07/2017 11:30

Hang your period pants inside out on her line.

Supermagicsmile · 23/07/2017 11:32

Peg big things up outside her house!!!

TheFlamingo · 23/07/2017 11:33

That she's done it for 5 years and always has, I said well I'm here now and want her to stop doing it all I really got was she's always done it she wouldn't agree to not doing it

You need to start hanging your easing outside her front door. Hopefully she'll get the message!

JennyOnAPlate · 23/07/2017 11:34

Easing = washing. Fecking autocorrect.

clairethewitch70 · 23/07/2017 11:35

Visit a charity shop and buy the crappiest underwear and bright gruesome clothes, wash them. Hang your washing up out side her door and tell her that as she is taking up your space, you need to use hers.
