My youngest is going on cub camp on Thursday I ordered a sleeping bag from amazon for him. On the 12th I got a text while I was at work from amazon saying we were unable to deliver your order. No card through the door or anything. Left it a few days and then emailed the seller to ask where my item is for them to tell me it was delivered and signed for on the 12th. I contacted amazon directly to be told they can see the name of the person who signed for the item but not the address. It's not a name i recognise I live on a long Street with 100 houses. I've knocked on the doors of the nearest houses only a couple answered and they didn't have the parcel. Would it be unreasonable to put a note through some of the doors asking if anyone has ut? Or should I except that after 10 days no one is going to own up to having it.

I would complain to Amazon it was not delivered to you/you have no way of tracing who it was delivered too- you want a refund/replacement product. You have a text which says failed delivery as proof.

Take it up with Amazon. It's their responsibility. Gonna keep to them and keep pushing

You say amazon, assuming amazon market place? Contact amazon direct. They will probably just refund if you had the text of non delivery from them. Either way it is the sellers responsibility to ensure you get the item. Not sure whether this is Amazon or their Market place seller but IME Amazon are pretty hot on their seller for this.

Amazon are usually good with stuff like this. Contact them again and explain you've knocked on neighbours doors and no one has owned up to having it. Their driver should have left a card, text or no text, and also should have mentioned what house it was left at so this is their delivery drivers error.

When I had an Amazon delivery stolen, they gave me account credit up to the item cost so I could reorder. They have amazing customer service.

Amazon did that to me once, all the delivery information said was a neighbour, which was very unhelpful as I lived in a building of 5 flats in a row of terraced houses. When they couldn't find out which neighbour, they offered a replacement or refund. Funnily enough, it eventually turned up six months later after I'd moved out, a neighbour must've passed it to the letting agents who then contacted me.

If you've bought directly from Amazon you should be fine, their customer service is pretty good.

If it's through marketplace it might be harder, but if the seller is unco-operative then escalate to Amazon directly

And no yanbu to put a note through asking if anyone has your parcel, what is there to lose? It might turn up, if not, you've not lost anything by tryinh

I've now been refunded after amazon got involved. I'm still annoyed though that I've had to sort out another sleeping bag when someone on my street obviously has the one I ordered.

Maybe you are the neighbour to that twat on a different thread who refused to take the parcel round? You don't also 'steal' her place on the bus do you?!

I can't remember the last time I was on a bus so I don't think that was me lol

Similar happened to me, except it was a £200 electrical item. I told Amazon to leave it in the porch if there was no answer (you can't see into the porch so it is pretty safe) but instead they delivered it to a (apparently unoccupied) house halfway down my road. We went round 3 times daytime, evening, no one ever in. And there's barely any furniture in there (looked through window). Amazon refunded in full, but I'm annoyed some twat has got my expensive item for free!
