AIBU?

To not pay this?

We pay an extortionate amount of rent on a property that had no maintenance done on it for at least 5 years. Last year LL decided not to use a letting agent to manage property anymore and we were to deal with him directly.

Annual tenancy is up for renewal next month so expected to hear from LL about renewing or going onto periodic tenancy soon but get a call from old letting agent instead saying that LL wants to offer a new one year tenancy and has asked them to draw it up only. They will not be managing the property. No mention of any fees. They send it over by email for electronic signing which I do then return, then they respond with completed agreement to which they attach an invoice for £100 for our share of drawing up the tenancy agreement which they want paid within 7 days.

AIBU to think that I didn't engage them to do the work so why should I pay for it and tell them to bog off? This is the LL's issue surely. He could have done it himself?

Concern is that they will withdraw tenancy agreement (although it has been signed by both parties and I have a copy).

YANBU I presume there was no mention of the fee before you signed it? I'd be telling them where to shove it.

I'd expect a fee for renewing a tenancy agreement if it was through an agency.

You don't have to agree to it and pay though, you can just go onto a rolling contract if you want. But obviously that doesn't give you the stability of a fixed contract.

No , dont pay it. Perhaps send the invoice back to them telling them to redirect the invoice to the landlord.
What is your relationship with the landlord like , could you make him aware that they're trying to bill you ?

I wouldn't pay. They cant charge you after the fact, and you have the tenancy signed and delivered. Not your problem.
