So out of a family of 4 we have various versions of this.

AIBU to think I am right?

Me: 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, a potato cake, fried egg, grilled tomato and mushrooms.

DH: 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, slice of black pudding, 2 potato cakes, scrambled eggs, beans

DSD: 2 potatoes cakes, poached egg, bacon and beans

DS: toast, beans, scrambled eggs, 3 potato cakes and 2 sausages

Over to the MN jury...which breakfast would you have?

Potato cake does not belong on an English breakfast. Blurgh!

Eggs
Sausage
Mushroom
Bacon
Tomatoes

Buttered toast.

FanaticalFox · 28/06/2017 21:00

Good for you including potato cakes! Most people probably dont even know what they are but they are always a feature in my fry ups! I'd have to go with DH but no beans.

SaucyJack · 28/06/2017 21:01

Marmite toast with a fried egg on top.

WillowWeeping · 28/06/2017 21:02

2x fried egg
2x bacon
1 x sausage
Sautéed potatoes (well done)
Mushrooms
Grilled tomato
Fried slice
Toast with marmalade

MrsMoastyToasty · 28/06/2017 21:02

Potato cake =Scottish breakfast in our house.

ChippyMinton · 28/06/2017 21:02

YABU for having potato cake.

Bacon, fried egg, sausage, fried bread, grilled tomatoes.

harderandharder2breathe · 28/06/2017 21:02

None of them. I don't like mushrooms, tomato or black pudding

My ideal fry up is 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, fried egg, 2 hash browns, baked beans, fried bread

AfunaMbatata · 28/06/2017 21:03

No Staffordshire oat cake?!Shock

FranksBobot · 28/06/2017 21:04

I'd choose your DHs breakfast. Sounds just about perfect to me!!

Anniegetyourgun · 28/06/2017 21:04

If you're offering, I'll have yours but without the mushrooms.

I don't have a problem with baked beans for breakfast but they aren't trad English. Potato cakes probably aren't either, but they are so nice...

lilydaisyrose · 28/06/2017 21:04

Is a potato cake a potato scone?

SillyBub · 28/06/2017 21:05

2x well cooked smoked back bacon
1x square sausage
1x tattie scone
1x fried egg
1x black pudding
1x slice haggis
Small spoonful of beans

Perfection.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 28/06/2017 21:05

Bacon
Sausage
Black pudding
Fried bread
Mushrooms
Tinned tomatoes or beans
Scrambled egg

I often do a fried bread with Worcestershire sauce combo that goes down well.

RitaMills · 28/06/2017 21:06

Lorne sausage, two crispy smoked bacon, two potato scones, black pudding, haggis, fried egg, mushrooms, ketchup and toasted white bread. Oh I could go that now.

frasersmummy · 28/06/2017 21:06

2 fried eggs bacon sausage tattie scone (bemused look from non Scottish mumsnetters) fried bread baked beans

honeylulu · 28/06/2017 21:06

I x bacon 1 x egg 1 x sausage 1 x flat mushroom. Black pudding nice but optional. No potato or beans - carbs are the enemy didn't you know? But hot buttered toast if you must.

OatcakeCravings · 28/06/2017 21:06

Is a potato cake a tattie scone? I've never heard of a potato cake before!

Onhold · 28/06/2017 21:07

Fried Egg
Bacon
Sausage
Mushrooms
Beans
Fried bread

NO potato products

NotTooWorried · 28/06/2017 21:07

Yabu, you have forgotten the hash browns.

OP did not say English Breakfast, she said British Breakfast. Do some of you not consider Scotland to be part of Great Britain?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 28/06/2017 21:08

Potato cakes are awesome with melted cheese on top but have never tried them with a fry up

EdmundCleverClogs · 28/06/2017 21:09

Toast (or fried bread)
Hash browns
Beans
Mushrooms
Grilled tomato
Fried egg
One sausage (though usually rather not, I'm a carb monster!)
HP Sauce

No bacon or black pudding, vile stuff.
