to think Sid from Toy Story is a top kid?!

Am having to watch Toy Story quite a bit at the moment, according to the current passions of my 3yo.

My new perspective on Sid is that he is resourceful, creative, generates his own fun, thinks outside of the box, and dares to be different. He isn't doing anything wrong, as as far as he knows, toys don't have feelings. He's a kid to be proud of!

Have I watched it too much?!

He does steal his sister's toys and ruin them though.

Creampastry · 27/06/2017 17:43

His bad points far outweigh the niceties.... YABU

Future serial killer

HarrietKettleWasHere · 27/06/2017 17:45

No! He's probably the kind of kid that would pick the wings off a fly or burn ants or something.

I bet he kicks pigeons.

saoirse31 · 27/06/2017 17:45

Is he the one who torments his sister by wrecking her toys? YabvuSmile

Maudlinmaud · 27/06/2017 17:45

Sid is the stuff of nightmares, in fact one of my dc did have a few over Sid but she is super sensitive, bless her.

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 27/06/2017 17:46

No he is EVIL. He steals Hannah's toys and lies about it. He also got kicked out of his summer camp. Probably for drug dealing!

MissionItsPossible · 27/06/2017 17:47

Yabvu!!

CookieTramp · 27/06/2017 17:48

Well, that's pretty unanimous. 😂 I don't remember anything about being kicked out of summer camp - must pay more attention! As to nicking his sister's stuff, I thought some clear guidance from his ma about other people's stuff being off limits would set him right.

Also, Sid is in Toy Story 3, he is the 'garbage' man. Nothing wrong with that, but he could be doing something different if he is this creative, resourceful genius. Though I suppose he could be collect rubbish for said genius behaviours.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/06/2017 17:51

He barbecued Woody Sad

CookieTramp · 27/06/2017 17:56

I haven't seen Toy Story 3, but yes, garbage man isn't quite the way I was thinking he would turn out.

As to barbecuing Woody, yes but didn't know Woody could feel anything.

To be fair, if my kids did to their toys what he does to his, I would be taking them to the child psychologist! I guess I just admired his ingenuity.

Toy Story 3 is sad, don't do it :-(

To be fair on grown up Sid, he did have that traumatic occasion where all the toys came alive and spoke to him in his garden, warning him off. This probably had some kind of long term damage.

CookieTramp · 27/06/2017 18:02

FakePlastic, fair point 😂😂😂 Having a toy spin its head at you, call you by name and come alive in your hand would be a traumatic life event.

Orders fireworks online/from catalogues, at a very young age. Big fireworks. Then plays with them in the garden, in close proximity to houses and other people, with a reckless disregard for their safety...

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 27/06/2017 18:11

He has hidden vulnerabilities, as there was that bit where he was asleep and sobbed 'I wanna ride the pony'.

CookieTramp · 27/06/2017 18:21

JigsawBat - he clearly has a neglectful mum, is the way I see that! Needs a little guidance and will blossom, etc.

JesusInTheCabbageVan, I love it! Exactly! Poor kid just needs a little love and he would be a joy!

I feel like he would treat other kids the way he treats toys if he could. He pretends the toys are real and can feel pain and he enjoys hurting them, that's not right. Am I taking this too seriously?

BlurryFace · 27/06/2017 18:54

Don't binmen in the US make pretty good bank though? He needed a bloody good talking to in the first film, maybe he straightened out a bit after Woody made him shit himself.
