To need a handhold?

Because I'm making a statement tomorrow about something that happened when I was 13.

I don't know how much I'm allowed to say on here, because I've read somewhere that we're not allowed to talk about ongoing cases or something? Also, I CBA to namechange.

A few flowers or loveshapes 💟 would be so appreciated right now

This bit before hand is probably worse than when you will be doing it. It is fantastic that you have this strength of purpose. BrewBrewBrewBrewBrewCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCake

I've been here before. I know what to expect. You'd think it would be easier the second time, huh?

I found out tonight that a friend was abused by the same person, at the same time. I have somehow found the strength to become "ok". She, unfortunately, has not. She's told me she will make a statement too- but says she couldn't stand up in court and give details. Ok- that's where she is right now. She's an amazing individual just because she survived!

I, however, will take it as far as I can. DH said tonight that he thinks I was "born pissed off" 😁. What he meant is that I was born passionate (he explained it to me). I'm pissed off to take it as far as it will go.

Whwn I was 13, it was about getting him out of the house so he wouldn't do anything to my sisters.

Now it's about getting him off the street- and getting him out of the way of another vulnerable 13yo, if there is one.

I got this...

Best of luck op! Thanks The police and court system are well trained to take statements sensitively in cases

WELL DONE YOU. Just being prepared to give a statement is a huge and wonderful thing. You don't need a hand hold, you need a medal for this. I hope it goes well.

In my experience the police are great at taking statements like this. They're careful to get as much information as they can, and were very respectful to me. I hope you are treated as well as I was.

Thank you all- and sorry about how negative my posts seemed last night. I was in shock I think.

I'm waiting for The Call atm. I keep giggling about the most random things- it's weird! If any of you know me from the PLL threads, you may know that I always pull an all nighter on Tuesdays. I said to DH this morning that, if it drains me so much that I fall asleep tonight, there'll be a few pissed off MNers. He looked at me like I'd gone out! 😂

Poor guy. The first thing he knew about this was when he picked me up from my friend's house. I waited until we had driven around the corner, then called the 101 number.

He stopped the car while I was on the phone, restarted it- and drove straight to Tesco to get me some beer.

He doesn't "get it", and that's a blessed relief! To truly get it, he would have had to have been through it- and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The more people who don't get it, the better IYSWIM.

So as not to drip feed, there is a bigger picture. I've done this before. This man was one of a long line of people I was exposed to when I was younger. I took the ringleader to court back in 2005.

If I sound brutal and factual, its becausethat's how I deal with things- I tend to bark out facts. Facts are easy. Once the facts are out, I can then deal with the emotional fallout.

Ffs- another whiny post! On a lighter note, my cat has just jumped into my bath water! 😂

Good Morning!
Hope you and the cat enjoyed the bath!
You are strong, I, like everyone here am proud of you. I also thank you for being brave enough to protect our younger members of society, our daughters.
