Just that really! 😭😭😭😭😭 I am a completely blubbering mess! 😭😭😭😭

Waited 9 years for my DC to say his first word and he just spoke and said " oh no!" 😭😭😭

AIBU to keep him off of school tomorrow to take him to his favourite restaurant and park to Celebrate?! The places he really likes are normally extremely busy and loud if we try and go at weekends / after school or in the holidays and it doesn't result in an enjoyable experience for him!

I also so incredibly proud and I just want to treat him for talking even though I don't even think he is aware he has said a word! ❤️😭😭😭

That sounds amazing - you must be thrilled!!

BarbarianMum · 26/06/2017 16:03

Congratulations! Yes, do take him out. You need to celebrate this even if he doesn't. May it be the start of great things! Grin

Brilliant! FlowersCakeBrewStar

Are you going to tell him he spoke? Don't freak him out too much!

DistortedPerceptions · 26/06/2017 16:04

Oh how lovely for you OP, congrats Flowers. I don't think one day off school will do any harm. It's end of term where we are and kids aren't doing much work anyway.

MrsMozart · 26/06/2017 16:05

That's fabulous, well done Blue's DS.

What happened to make him say "oh no"?

Take him out, take hime out dancing on abel all night, celebrate, celebrate, celebrate. But also don't freak him out. Does he thinks its big deal?

I can't imagine how unbelievably wonderful that must be. Shout it from the rooftops and celebrate as much for you as for him.

Fantastic, I remember when my son was six and said his first clear words - such a brilliant feeling and so proud!
He is now 13 and a chatterbox ( he has learning difficulties) definitely take him out and celebrate Flowers

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/06/2017 16:14

What great first words! Star
