To think that the perfect bra doesn't exist?

Even when I find a bra that fits how it's apparently supposed to and feels fairly comfortable, it doesn't put my boobs where I want them to be. Is it abnormal to want them hoiked up somewhere around my neck? Even if I find a bra that seems to provide the correct level of support, it feels like my boobs are being supported too far down my body for my liking. Do I just have unrealistic bra expectations?

What size are you and have you been measured correctly?

frecklesmcspeckles · 24/06/2017 20:12

No, I share your pain. Even when in the changing room of Bravissimo with the super expert lady swooshing and thinking I've nailed it... I get home and it rubs somewhere or rides up somewhere or sags after three wears. The perfect bra would be the holy grail!!!!

Ollivander84 · 24/06/2017 20:13

Ewa michalak for me. Polish bra companies understand the "I want cleavage and uplift and also in a K cup please" Grin

Tailypo · 24/06/2017 20:15

I thought this for ages and then had a bra fitting at Selfridges recently. I bought a Calvin Klein bra from them, which fits really well.

(Disclaimer - I don't work for Selfridges, and am not connected to them in any way apart from being a one-off happy customer Wink)

caddywally · 24/06/2017 20:18

dementedpixie Around 32G - at least, that's what has been closest to the perfect fit so far. I haven't been measured but I think one day I might have to, even if I hate the idea of it.

Ollivander Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them out! Sometimes I feel like every bra maker expects someone with big boobs to want them hanging somewhere around their waist. I wish bras could replicate what my hands can!

Try Panache Tango II or Curvy Kate Daily Dream.

bunnylove99 · 24/06/2017 20:24

Have you tried any of the high end specialist shops? I have heard places like Rigby &Peller are well worth the money for well endowed people like yourself, as the bras are great quality and the fitting v good.

Ollivander84 · 24/06/2017 20:25

Second curvy Kate - I like the Arizona ones. Brastop is best for returns and cheap too. Or bravissimo satine if you want a plunge

PickAChew · 24/06/2017 20:25

Everyone's shape is different but I have many curvy Kate and a Freya balconet which create a nice shelf under my chin to rest my lunch on! I'm a properly saggy 32Gg/30H

Ollivander84 · 24/06/2017 20:26

This is a ewa michalak one (god bless that company) 😂😂

I like panache idina (am 36GG)

Crashbangwhatausername · 24/06/2017 20:26

I haven't been able to find a decent bra since the dreaded sag has hit, try and hoik two empty bags into something resembling a cleavage without double boob happening. Kids Angry

OlennasWimple · 24/06/2017 20:27

Maybe an obvious question, but have you tried shortening the straps if the cups fit but you feel it's too low?

Sophiealice95 · 24/06/2017 20:28

It's trial and error I find. You have to try on a lot of them before you buy I think. Atm I prob have 20 bras of which about 3 are really comfy. I don't like padded or underwired now I am an old woman lol but my recent buy was one from Bon Marche of all places and it is gorgeously comfy!!Shop around is my advice and when you do find a comfy one get a couple more lol

PinkBuffalo · 24/06/2017 20:29

I am small chested and hate scratchy, tight material. The perfect bras I always got were "softy" non wired bras from BHS. Now bhs is gone, have no idea what I'm going to do when I eventually need new bras!!

caddywally · 24/06/2017 20:31

OlennasWimple I've tried, but to get my boobs where I want them the strap has to be shortened to the point that it digs into my shoulders uncomfortably.

Crashbang Unfortunately I was never blessed with particularly perky boobs and have been pendulous since they sprouted! I don't know what they'll be like once I've had kids. Maybe I can just tie them in a knot in the middle of my chest.

I rate the youthful lift bras from M&S - I'm a 40GG.

CatsRidingRollercoasters · 24/06/2017 20:35

Ollivander thanks for the tip! On their website now. Is shipping pricey and is it easy to return?

I have a perfect Warner one from many years ago. It is double layered, seamless, with the wires and side support in between the layers. Wide straps, full cup and natural shape and not too tight anywhere. I get it out when I am having a hormonal blip. It will die soon Sad

Measure yourself - go to boborbust.com no need to have some random woman in a changing room do it.

Ollivander84 · 24/06/2017 20:49

Shipping isn't too bad, the currency is zloty if you use google to convert! Returns - I've never returned anything TBH but I believe it's fine or they sell like hotcakes on eBay/FB bra groups

Doobigetta · 24/06/2017 21:07

Calvin Klein bras are lovely, but they only go up to a D cup, which isn't much use to most people.
