In a terraced house, vair middle class, quiet village?
It would be seen & heard by both immediate neighbours.
Tbf my neighbours already know i'm not vair middle class so perhaps they wouldn't be surprised?!

Can your balcony hold a hot tub. They are incredibly heavy.

Will the balcony support it? and why would you put a hot tub where the neighbours can all see you?
Put a Jacuzzi indoors instead.

It'll be too heavy for a balcony.

YABU.

A balcony cannot support the weight.

It's really unlikely your balcony could support the weight of a hot tub.

Not sure a balcony would hold a hot tub although yanbu to get a hot tub in the first place

Agree with others regarding the weight-is your balcony supported by a room underneath or free? It seems unlikely it would take the weight (and may cause you structural issues!)

Watch the episode of CSI first where kids take a heavy table out onto the balcony and the balcony collapses killing some. Then see if you still fancy the idea.
And I think for a terraced house it's a no-go.

Why on the balcony, it
Will break it. Put it into garden surely

Oh poo. Yes its supported by a room underneath. Wouldn't having it inside be the same re support issues? Anyway my bathroom is a god damn matchbox

Because there's nowhere else to put it & its quite a nice view.

How noisy would it be?

TimetohittheroadJack · 19/06/2017 15:39

But how would you empty it? Could you drain it easily?

I have one of those Lazy spas and the water is horrible after a few days (albeit my kids do act like its a swimming pool).

Yeah it could drain into the downpipe. I think the pumps are quite noisy yes.
Oh dear why has it got a filter? Im wanting the new york lazy spa

You're not serious, are you? This has to be a joke. Not only would it be too heavy, but it would be completely anti social unless you have a very large garden.

Have you considered a portable hot tub you could keep in the garden? With a cover and proper treatment, the hot tub stays clean all summer. Even a portable inflatable tub with two adults inside weighs a ton. It's not like putting out a clothesline.

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/06/2017 15:53

i doubt the roof would hold the weight

A thousand litres of water is a tonne OP.

Weight aside, that's a lot of water and if it leaked and flooded the area below that would cause one hell of a nightmare. Insurers probably prohibit it too.

just google hot tub on balcony - not only is it not an issue - in many hotels around the world it is seen as a symbol of great luxury!

if you enjoy it why not - who cares what the neighbours think - other than that they will probably be jealous!

just make sure that when you pop the champagne corks over the side of the balcony you don't hit them too often Grin

Haha, go for it, it has given me a giggle, rather like a plot in a carry on film. I can just picture it. Enjoy OP.
