AIBU?

Is it me, or does this weather just make many people such arses?

As in: competition in nearly every garden as to who can have the smelliest smokiest BBQ,

who can play ntheir loud trash ''music'' the loudest- even taking their giant loudspeakers to the middle of the garden. and its all a mash of drum n bass, Bollywood, (C)rap, offensive lyrics etc. whole street shaking like that scene in jurrasic park when the t-rex is approaching.

who can stay out the longest, as in, all bloody night even though the law says theres not supposed to be excessive noise after 11pm? ( and no one can complain as the police/noise enforcement people CBA)

the ones who go down the local pubs and come back shouting like football chanting at all hours of the day and night throwing beer cans and peeing and shitting in peoples front gardens?-yes, its happened.

the mobile ''music'' boxes in souped up crap cars?

dog walking and letting dogs shit everywhere at all hours of day and barking dogs through the night?

mowing lawns/cutting hedges with those trimmer things that are loud at stupid o clock in the morning and stupider o clock at night?

those awful trampolines and lay-zee-spa things that kids and adults MUST use at the same stupid o clock times?

and I guess someone will say this is England, its rare we get such hot weather, once in a while is okay....crap! its every single time the sun dares to show its face, been over a month already, and will go on till mid sept or so

I pray for rain- (My best Victor Meldrew yet!)

In my previous life I dated a policeman. He said crime always went up when the weather was hot. I presumed it was because people left their windows open but no, it's because people become short tempered or something.

It makes me an arse. Not in an antisocial way but in a grumpy, lethargic way. I like winter.

I wondered if there were more punch ups too, that sort of stuff.

I had a meal out this lunchtime. Sat outside. How nice, apart from the searing heat and the insects. Hmm

Also topless men. Yuk. Put it away, I don't care of adonis or beer belly I don't want to see it thanks.

YANBU. They crack out the beers at 11am and sit about in the sun all day, getting pissed and burned. By 6pm they're all wasted and cross! Angry

Depends where you live! Not too bad around here. Just kids playing etc. I've been sitting in my garden all day and it's not quiet exactly but still pretty peaceful.

People do get both happier and more grumpy in this weather though. I'm a bit of both today Grin

The worst is the when it's 3 topless men in the front of a transit sitting in a row. Bleurgh.

Ugh to topless men, why do they do that? Bleurgh.

Been deathly quiet here ( apart from my 2) I assume most people headed to the coast

Titsywoo in a built up area, (terraced houses, back to back gardens, flats with balconies etc).

A bit more consideration would be nice.

not against the odd BBQ or 2, or music played at a reasonable level, or all the above within reasonable times, but its too much.

Oh to be able to afford to live in the courtside near a nice secluded beach, or a cooler country altogherteher (too hot to even type properly!!)

Im a winter person as it is, hate from April to mid sept. (Apart from Wimbledon tennis!)

I am soooo much happier in this weather. All I notice is people relaxed, smiling, enjoying themselves.

The police not responding is not because they can't be arsed! It's because they have a million other more important things to respond to. Your noise complaints are not a matter of life and death.

I think in this weather if you don't have anything you need to be doing it's lovely. I am more than happy to sit in the shade and read a book.

But if you have chores to do or work then it just makes you hot and ratty and it's difficult to sleep at night.

Yabu - we have just had our annual neighbourly summer garden party with 3 bouncy castles for the kids, lots of food, lovely cakes and free flow pimms. Grin We got to meet so many of our neighbours that we don't normally see/meet. I love summer! Smile

Someone on Facebook posted this morning at 7.30am 'Having my morning cup of tea wondering if it's acceptable to start drinking now'

Couldn't imagine them saying that at 7.30am on an October morning! Everyone just thinks it's more acceptable to be drunk and lecherous and sit in their paddling pools and home spa's thinking they're Gods gift.

I must admit, I find the English thing I'd just making loud grunting and oil noises when drunk on a hot day, so fucking weird.

Does anyone else think it's too hot to go to the seaside with a toddler and a baby. My partner wants us to go tomorrow but I'd rather sit in the shade at home, it's a 2 hour drive each way, toooo hot!

Also I do think this country is weird re violence.. In winter being a bit hypothermic and aggressive, in summer. Being tired and dehydrated and aggressive.. It's odd

I find that hot weather makes people really cranky.

It's 90° F here today, we're indoors with the A/C.
