To want holiday accommodation with disabled access in Ireland for 13 adults and 5 children??

Just that really! Trying to book a family holiday for my parents, I and my 5 siblings , 5 of us with partners, my brother has 3 children , we have one and hopefully two by the time we go on holiday ( French school holiday time in October). So we need at least 8 rooms, one per adult single/couple and at least one for my brothers 3 children (will be 14,11 and 9). The challenge is we need disabled suitable facilities including a shower that can be rolled into i.e. has no lip. Original brief was a castle but we have given up on that . We tried Ross castle and Wilton castle, one was close but not quite enough rooms. Is there anywhere?? Please help!

What airport are you planning on flying into ? Are you open to a long journey to travel to accommodation or would you prefer a shorter one ? Besides a castle would you have any other preference? What would you like from the holiday ie .near a beach,lots of activities, days out etc ?

bethehokey. No restrictions re airport, we are coming from London, France, the us and Australia at least so long journeys no matter what. We would prefer not super isolated or a great area to hang around in so we don't need 4 cars all week. We do t want to jump up, pack
Sandwiches and load up the car for day trips all day every day so want to enjoy where we are. We did want to be near the Aran islands (sp?) to go out there but have given up on being too particular re locations!

Are you holidaying IN Ireland yeah? Would you like the likes of a small village with a nice beach? With an adventure park, horse riding, maze, etc, walks up the fields, visiting cows and sheep?

Glenbeigh in Co. Kerry is lovely and there is some fantastic holiday homes there, specifically one estate with lots of modern houses you can hire for a week or more or less, and I remember the bathrooms are disabled access, the shower you roll into ie it's covering hte whole room.

Second vote for Parknasilla in Sneem, Co Kerry. They have 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Definitely have downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and they're relatively newly build so I'd imagine they have to be wheelchair accessible. Lots to do and you never need to leave the place if you don't want to. It's a bit of a trek to get to but so worth it. Great place for kids and lots of kids club too.
I know other people rave about Kelly's hotel in Rosslaire, Wexford.

If you fancy Northern Ireland I can recommend a couple of places. Good luck - I just had a similar task in Scotland and it was a bit of a nightmare! So many places that claim to be wheelchair accessible but then have no suitable shower facilities, tiny toilets and narrow corridors.

Brookfield Holiday Village in Cork is really good, fairly central and has a big leisure centre and lots of shops nearby.

Thanks peachgreen will keep you in mind. It's the roll in shower that is the challenge isn't it? I can't get over 'Wheelchair friendly' places with 'just one shallow step' to the resaurant and only a bath ... mean
