I think she'd be brilliant! Anyone else reckon it might happen?

I think she's a really normal and hard working person. I think she'd do us proud.

I'd love it but no I can't see it. First minister of Scotland perhaps is more achievable.

She is fabulous. IIRC David Cameron said he thought she was brilliant.

She speaks like a human being for a start and has great personal credibility. She is very clever and articulate.

I would vote for her Smile

But if they oust out May, well are they not obligated to? Would Ruth D not be the perfect choice?

She can't unless she wins a Westminster seat. She is rather fab though despite being a Tory.

She doesn't have a seat in Parliament though. I don't think there's anything to stop a non-MP leading the party in the Commons, but I don't think it's ever been done before.

I'd definitely vote for her. I think she's a person more than a politician. I think she's ace.

I agree! Can she be leader if she's not an MP in Westminster though?

"She is rather fab though despite being a Tory."

Even non-tory people like her! I wish she would stand for a Westminster seat.

She is one of the few that seem like an actual normal person

She's not an MP, so Goulding become leader.

Another vote for yes from me. Really like her. Especially as she told anti-brexit harridan Nicola Sturgeon to STFU and sit down! Grin

Can't see it happening for reasons PP say - but agreed. I really like her, she's totally charming - I could genuinely imagine going for a drink with her.

raven she's told May that the Tories need to soften their approach on Brexit in light of the results.

OP she is the leader of the Scottish Labour Party and is a MSP - Member of the Scottish Parliament. He Scottish elections are on a different rota, so to speak and she wasn't defending her seat this time round.

Scottish TORY not Labour, sheesh!

She defended the rape clause. It's a no from me. Til then I thought she was ok for a Tory but No, she's just like the rest of them.

Hmm. I'm an SNP supporter, and have a lot of issues with the conservatives. However I need to agree that she comes across as being very competent in her current role. If I had to choose between her and May, I would feel more comfortable with her being at the helm. I think she maybe has very different personal opinions about some tory polices than the public opinion she has to follow.
And I give her credit for still standing by May after she has teamed with DUP considering their views on homosexuality, and Ruth's own sexuality.

I suspect that given the right inducement ie a Scottish safe seat then she could be persuaded to stand for election to Westminster, BUT at the moment she has more power/influence as the Leader of the Tory Party in Scotland.

Can I ask how many of you are in Scotland? Davidson is an MSP and can't stand as an MP unless she stands down.

I agree she comes across quite well some of the time but you can't be paying that much attention to Scottish politics because sometimes shes a Buffon of Boris Johnson levels.

I love her.

She's human and candid. She is clear about her position without being rude about others. Her statement today was excellent. I really admire her warning to May and the way she's told the DUP to wind their necks in.

The only safe Tory seat in Scotland is David Mundells and I can't see him giving it up. I don't think Davidson is popular enoughwith old school Tories in Westminster.

Her "make Britain great again!" War cry was hilarious this week

  1. don't copy trump
  2. if it's needing made great again, blame your own party who have been in charge for years.

No! She didn't even have a seat in parliament, how can that work?
