I know this sounds really horrible and callous, but only a tiny number of people have been killed in terror attacks in the UK.
We have to keep going on because we have no choice. What will change - what is already changing - is our belief in a 'charmed' existence, where we have felt as if things like this happen in other countries and not to us. Death can come at any moment, to all of us.

If you suspect someone has been radicalised report it to the police so info can be passed on. Terror attacks are prevented this way. Decent funding for the police helps too.

Be inclusive to people you think may be at risk of radicalisation. Make it harder for the terrorists to fuck with their heads and convince them terrorism is the right way.

Maybe winning is the wrong word but they're having an impact, that can't be denied, prob be some incident of horror on polling day too, I think for 'them' as long as they're disrupting in the most extreme way possible they feel victorious and i think they will want this heightened sense of fear created by regular attacks to continue as long as possible, with others joining the momentum possibly

I think the media need to have a good look at how they report these incidents.
What those men did last night was awful but it is now the media who are spreading the terror through sensationalist reporting and media outlets trying to out do each other by reporting each grizzly detail. This also encourages other sick minded terrorists because in their mind it makes what these men have done seem glamorous.

@bruffian it is too early to talk about Isis. They don't organise these attacks like the terrorists in NI or Al Qaeda did. They radicalise and make suggestions of possible things to do. This makes intelligence a hell of a lot harder actually.

I agree these attacks can't not be reported but I wonder about avoiding the use of the term 'terror'. Perhaps describing the incidents as 'multiple murders', which is, after all, what they are.
