Lidl - lighthearted one

Sent Dh into Lidl for honey and fresh lemons (getting a sore throat) as he was in town anyway, and he rang me 4 times! yes 4 times from inside the store!
First to ask where the lemons are then 3 more times trying find the honey.Angry

It's not as though our Lidl is even that big.
And when he got home he'd bought a bloody white bath and pedestal mat! Wtf?
We live on a farm and the loo is downstairs so that's not going to last a day.

Do men in general need a map to get round a store or just mine?
Wouldn't mind but I was up a ladder painting and had to keep coming down because phone was on charge.

Mine went to Sainsbury's (on foot) for food for dinner and came home with a DVD player and a bag full of various pickles.
In his defence he'd run out of hands so couldn't buy anything else ...

Who apart from my granny uses a bath & pedestal mat these days? Just who? 😂

No my dh doesn't call me for directions in a supermarket, he worked out a long time ago if you walk round you can find things Shock

My DH is brilliant at supermarkets. He'll wander off to get something banal but come back with something amazing that I'd never have spotted in a million years.

Aren't all Lidls set out in the same way ie bakery first then fruit and veg? Did you even get your lemons and honey or just a bath mat? Didn't he think to just ask an assistant?

I think DH would have got a 'how the Jeff do I know? I don't work there & I can't see out of your eyes. Just bloody ask someone!'

I love my bath mat. It's washed weekly, quick dry and plush for my feet.

Glad you got your honey and lemons OP. Your poor throat must've been raw after shouting directions down the phone after the fourth time Wink

I've stopped asking mine to nip in to Tesco for milk as he always comes home with a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Bath mats are always useful. Pedestal mats are just big piss absorbers. Envy

You can't blame the man for getting sucked into the Aisle of Random Tat though. It's the Bermuda Triangle of any Lidl store.

I sent my husband into Aldi on his way home from work for fabric conditioner once and he came home with a metre long masonry drill bit, washing up liquid and no fabric conditioner.
This week he brought home a walk in plastic greenhouse and a spade.

It amazes me the number of people who think a bath mat is for keeping permanently on the floor. I've had to explain numerous times that it's for stepping out of the bath with clean wet feet - not for trampling over in dirty outdoor shoes.

I asked my DH to pick up some surface wipes from the corner shop when he went for wine over the weekend. He brought me back.......a loaf of bread. Did get the wine though. I still can't work out any line of logic/mis-hearing that would replace wipes with bread.

My FIL thinks that shopping constitutes as tinned sweetcorn and frozen onion rings..

Nowt wrong with frozen onion rings in an emergency...

No, there isn't. But DP (before I moved in) had nothing in the house, FIL went to the shop with money to buy bread and milk and came back with 3 tins of sweetcorn and a packet of onion rings...and no bread or milk Confused lol

The Ballad of Lidl and Aldi for all of us who have either ourselves, or known someone who has, fallen for the aisle of tat.

Hah, the Random Tat at lidl gets me all the time, I always end up barely carrying what I buy (no car and not on a bus route either).

Funnily enough, my mum lives abroad, has no car and gets suckered just like me whenever she goes.

That's nothing, my DB ( who I speak to a couple of times a year) called me at work to ask where to find the vanilla essence in his local Morrison's.

I live over 100 miles away and have never shopped there.

still managed to find it for him though

😂 love it! An ex once placed an onion ring on my finger in lieu of an engagement ring whilst out for a meal Hmm should have known how that one would end!

My Dh just comes home with beer 🍻 and a pair of binoculars, drill bits, work bench... and he wonders why I've banned him from shopping 🤔
