Very embarrassing, lost the figures for free childcare. Not giving me much faith to be honest! Are you listening?

A real Diane Abbott moment - why didn't he know these numbers?. So much spending....he should have it all written out in front of him.

Politics.co.uk talking this morning about how he let slip last night that he would uplift benefits - great, BUT that isn't in his manifesto...so uncosted.

Whatever happens it won't just be the rich paying for this - everyone will pay, either directly through increased taxes or indirectly through higher prices, inflation, interest rates.

It's getting worse. They are on brexit now. he sounds a bit pissed off!

What's your AIBU?

yes you;d think after that he'd have the figures of the main thing he's come to talk about! Hmm

Haha- I'll probably be called someone from the Tory party in a mo!

He's doing a webchat here at 12 o'clock.

Umm, that it was a car crash I guess!

Maybe he'll have the figures for the web chat then. Wonder if he will get a similarly hard time on here as he did on Woman's hour.

It's been picked up all over twitter - many saying Paxman might have been alpha male aggressive, but didn't lay a finger on him...but Emma Barnett calm and forensic and asking about details and absolutely nails him...

I'm sure Seamus will take over the webchat now ... given it's typed, not direct interviews!!

Two4One2017 · 30/05/2017 10:42

On the webchat he can pick and choose the questions he wants to answer, so no, he won't get a hard time at all.

She's fab! Impressed with the calm clear approach. (from her)

Might have to find that on catch up later. Do you know if other party leaders have been on too?

An increase in ESA is in the manifesto and is costed.

Phillip Hammond did the same thing, as have others. It's an election campaign, sometimes people from all parties don't have what's needed to hand. It was not a car crash.

No, it was just him. It seems he was on to talk about giving free child care to all 2 year olds, but didn't know the figures when asked.

She is not fab at all. I agree it was not a strong performance from Corbyn, but I hate this style of interviewing - very aggressive and not allowing him to answer the question. And these spurious claims of his links to the IRA and Hamas are sensationalist distractions from the real issues. She clearly has her own agenda - as a former editor of the telegraph newspaper might.

Even if that's true he should be able to handle that shouldn't he. Or can he only be interviewed by peopke who stick to the " but has such a lovely man" line.

Claremole I don't think the claims about his links to the IRA and Hamas are spurious at all, and given that, he is unsuitable to be PM.

"And these spurious claims of his links to the IRA and Hamas "

But these claims are NOT spurious - there are numerous photographs of Corbyn smoozing some really dodgy people.

I had to turn it off when he was scrambilng for the figures and I thought he was about to say - he he he got you there, big joke, of course I know the figures.

Did he then give the figures? When I switched off he was scrabblling around in papers to find them.
Also when he was asked why childcare is a women's issue he did not say it is a fathers' issue too (which it is - many fathers now and even 30 years ago found and visited nurseries etc) he just said it was a society issue. He missed his chance to show at 68 he realised men find nurseries and vet childminders because they are equal parents.

What do you think of the pictures of May with the Saudis, our nice Wahabist chums?

I though Emma Barnett was awful, really rude and aggressive. JC was lost for words and it was horrible, awkward listening.

I was embarrassed to listen.

Norman Smith is talking about this on the 11:00 BBC News. He referred it to a Diane Abbott moment. It sounds as though he wanted to check details but the Interviewer was not allowing him time to check his Ipad.

And yet this is acceptable. This is where ISIS funding comes from. This is a kingdom in which a woman cannot apply for a passport without permission from her husband or father. Where human rights are ignored, particularly if you're a dissenter. But hey, it's Theresa, we won't ask her about it. We won't ask about homelessness, about food banks, about people dying on welfare...
