Have D&V and at home with 10 month old baby, what do I do?!
He's very active and wants to crawl everywhere and get into everything.
I just need to lie down! My dh can't take the day off work.

Wise mumsnetters give me some tips to make it through til 5pm!

Put him in a pen for a while to keep him safe and still allow him to move around. If your bathroom is big enough, when you're in there being sick/on the loo, put him in the bath with some toys.

Make the living room safe, put all his toys out for him, close doors, snooze on sofa with a sickbowl.

Can your DH work a half day? Can you call on any family?

Hope you get better soon.

In the bath with toys sounds like a good idea, I'll summon the energy to dry it in a minute.

He knows how to open doors Shock he puts his wee hand under and pulls them open, it's a nightmare! Will have to barricade it.

Dh can't work a half day either, he's recently started as a contractor with a new client and it's really important he's there.

I think my mum is working but I've text her and said how ill I am so I'm hoping she can maybe help even for a couple of hours.

Mil is working too.

I'm a big baby when it comes to being ill, don't cope well at all. Throwing up makes me cry Sad

Hope ds doesn't get ill too!

He usually has a 90 minute nap at 9am.... holding out for that so I can lie in bed

Telly - sometimes it slows down the play (as they watch for a min in between) and helps when they are tired but not quite ready for a nap. Go into safest room so you don't have to be constantly up and down. Use cot/playpen/bath to hold for a while. Put him in easy clothes and if you're going downstairs take spares. Easy food all day (from a pouch/tin is perfectly acceptable today). Get out something he doesn't usually play with. Turn on noisy toys intermittently (as long as you don't have a headache)

Put a folded tea towel over the top of the door & close it. Makes the door much harder to open!

Do you know anyone who could lend you a playpen (longshot) or travel cot (more likely) which you could put him in with some toys and hope for the best?

Even if he hates it, it's somewhere you could safely leave him during (possibly protracted) loo breaks.

fara he has a travel cot that we use as a play pen, he does hate being left in it unfortunately as he's going through a clingy phase at the moment. I suppose there's nothing I can do but let him cry knowing he's safe at least.

My mum cake round so I've been in bed most of the day resting. Going for a bath now to warm up as I'm freezing. She needs to leave in just over an hour but it's been a massive help.
