So iv been fake tanning (as I'm a milk bottle) and the buzzer goes. I ran to it and buzzed him up. Grabbed a dressing gown ( as im wearing a steappy top and no bra, due to the fake tanning )and opened the door. The man looks me up and down and says "sorry to have woken you....Not like its the afternoon or anything hmm". Cheeky fucker! My son then cane running at me in his stroller so I took my package said thanks and closed the door.

AIBU that I didn't tell the cheeky bastard to mind his own and kindly fuck off?? I wish I did now! Or sent my 6 month old after him!

Strappy top*

Ummm why have you posted this nonsense?

You are probably going to never see him again, so why have you let his comment get to you?

eleanor1989 Sat 27-May-17 14:10:35

Actually he's my regular hermes driver so I will. I just thought it was cheeky that's all and hermes are known to be crap! Didn't realise me posting it would be classified as "nonsense"

CaoNiMartacus Sat 27-May-17 14:11:15

He obviously struck a nerve to warrant such a response!

WhereIsTheLikeButton Sat 27-May-17 14:11:54

Well I suggest next time you don't give him
the opportunity to catch you looking a mess.

hmm I regularly look a mess in my own home. I have a 6month old so think I'm allowed. But thanks

VladmirsPoutine Sat 27-May-17 14:13:28

You sound incredibly wound up about something that's a non-issue.

MrJohnsonAteMyCustard Sat 27-May-17 14:13:58

He was rude. His job is to deliver parcels, not pass comment/judgement on the recipients of the parcels. He's a tit.

Bleubell Sat 27-May-17 14:15:24

I find this cheeky too, unnecessary comment to make and I would be annoyed too. He has assumed you've slept in late and is being judgemental about it so yes it is cheeky!

You sound delightful WhereIsTheLikeButton hmm

If it's any consolation OP I ended up answering the door to one of DHs mates this morning whilst still in my dressing gown and PJs with appalling hair - he snorted then beat a hasty retreat.

eleanor1989 Sat 27-May-17 14:19:25

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds it cheeky. I'm pretty self conscious as it is. I shouldn't be made to feel crappy inside my own home.

And I meant to say my son was in his walker not his stroller. Sorry.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat Sat 27-May-17 14:19:30

What is with people on MN? Of course he was rude. Who says that to someone? For all he knows maybe you were in bed with some sort of illness? Or worked a shift?

AvocadoLovingMamaOfOne Sat 27-May-17 14:20:08

I think he was rude... just like some of these replies!!
I've never had a great experience with Hermes either, my regular one basically plays knock the door and run

Well, it is a bit judgemental. I was told off by a ticket inspector on a train the other day for catching 40 winks. I'd left my ticket out on the table bit in full view in case he came past. But no- he jostled my shoulder and said people need to be awake for ticket check and that I shouldn't be sleeping in the day anyway! I didn't even retaliate I was shock

He needs to mind his own business, for all he knew you could have been doing night shifts. He'll be jealous, he's working Saturday, you aren't.

Oh Crikey a couple of grumpy gits in this thread. hmm

It's A Public forum, the op can post whatever she likes. If you think it's 'nonsense' simple go find another thread.

Anyway, op, aye I would have been a bit taken aback by his comment too! Thankfully my postie got very used to me answering the door in all kinds of stayes when mine was about 6 months blush

eleanor1989 Sat 27-May-17 14:24:04

Next time he comes ill just let me boobs free then. Didn't want him or myself to feel embaressed to be honest. Just me that felt embaressed now!

ticket inspector on a train What a nut, he'll be jealous too, wishing he was able to nap instead of working.
