AIBU?

To think there is something odd but our pta mums

They smile when they see me and chat. They are inclusive. Yes they know each other better than the rest but don't go out of their way to exclude others.
This isn't what I was led to expect from mn. Where's the bitchiness? Where's the playground politics?

It's all a ploy. Run for the hills!!

StealthPolarBear · 26/05/2017 22:57

Maybe they're all really lizards

Grin. It must be contagious. Our PTA mums have it too.

McDougal · 26/05/2017 22:59

Is there a secret society like in Hot Fuzz? I'd be suspicious but that might just be the way I am.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 26/05/2017 22:59

Our pta mums were the same

All but one who would only talk to you if she wanted something

But she was like that on and off the pta to be honest

2014newme · 26/05/2017 23:00

Same here. Normal friendly people. I joined. It was a good way to get to know people

Gazelda · 26/05/2017 23:00

They're mentally sizing you up to decide what you can handle at the summer fete. You're probably already down for raffle prize begging letters, putting up the posters around the local shops, the madness that is the first shift on the jazzy jars stall, and a stint on throw a sponge. You'll be Treasurer before the end of half term.

BrexitSucks · 26/05/2017 23:00

Mine are nice, too.

But 2bf, some of the past lot were right 'mares!!

arethereanyleftatall · 26/05/2017 23:01

Yanbu, same at my dc school. They're the nicest mums on the playground.

StealthPolarBear · 26/05/2017 23:01

I doubt it gaz. I'm useless at that stuff. More likely they're plotting to kill me and the niceness is to throw me off the scent.
Yeah. That'll be it.

Ours are lovely too. And I'm one of them Grin

StealthPolarBear · 26/05/2017 23:11

If I don't post again you know what happened

elephantoverthehill · 26/05/2017 23:14

Have you just moved to Stepford?

Nicketynac · 26/05/2017 23:22

I am in the PTA. I smile and say hello to fellow PTA members in the playground. The parents I talk to are people I have known for years (I have moved back to where I grew up) or are parents of my DCs' friends. Maybe I am not doing it right and will be asked to leave the PTA...

Neolara · 26/05/2017 23:25

Our PTA mums are fab. So we're the previous ones. Am hugely grateful for all the hard work they do for the school.

BorisTrumpsHair · 26/05/2017 23:26

Just wait. It's early days.

ScarlettFreestone · 26/05/2017 23:33

Yes our PTA Mums and Dads are all very nice, chatty and friendly.

They also work really really hard to raise funds for the school and organise lovely things like discos, book fairs, the Christmas market and the Summer fete.

How they remain so nice in the face of some miserable, rude parents who complain but never volunteer is a mystery.

TheoriginalLEM · 26/05/2017 23:37

just don't diss their lemon drizzle cakes or rice crispie nests!!

gillybeanz · 26/05/2017 23:45

I too was going to ask if you lived in Stepford.

HoneyDragon · 26/05/2017 23:51

I'm a pta parent.....now that should worry you Grin

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 27/05/2017 09:17

honeydragon

Beckywiththebadhair · 27/05/2017 10:39

Ours are nice.

To your face!

StealthPolarBear · 27/05/2017 10:56

Yes I forgot to mention all the stuff they do for the school. The gits.

Anniegetyourgun · 27/05/2017 11:01

They are pod people. Whatever you do, don't accept the offer of a sleepover. They'll replace you with a plant in the night.
