They smile when they see me and chat. They are inclusive. Yes they know each other better than the rest but don't go out of their way to exclude others.
This isn't what I was led to expect from mn. Where's the bitchiness? Where's the playground politics?

Diel Fri 26-May-17 22:56:45

It's all a ploy. Run for the hills!!

StealthPolarBear Fri 26-May-17 22:57:15

Maybe they're all really lizards

TooStressyForMyOwnGood Fri 26-May-17 22:57:40

grin. It must be contagious. Our PTA mums have it too.

McDougal Fri 26-May-17 22:59:28

Is there a secret society like in Hot Fuzz? I'd be suspicious but that might just be the way I am.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer Fri 26-May-17 22:59:42

Our pta mums were the same

All but one who would only talk to you if she wanted something

But she was like that on and off the pta to be honest

Same here. Normal friendly people. I joined. It was a good way to get to know people

Gazelda Fri 26-May-17 23:00:46

They're mentally sizing you up to decide what you can handle at the summer fete. You're probably already down for raffle prize begging letters, putting up the posters around the local shops, the madness that is the first shift on the jazzy jars stall, and a stint on throw a sponge. You'll be Treasurer before the end of half term.

Mine are nice, too.

But 2bf, some of the past lot were right 'mares!!

arethereanyleftatall Fri 26-May-17 23:01:15

Yanbu, same at my dc school. They're the nicest mums on the playground.

StealthPolarBear Fri 26-May-17 23:01:58

I doubt it gaz. I'm useless at that stuff. More likely they're plotting to kill me and the niceness is to throw me off the scent.
Yeah. That'll be it.

trinitybleu Fri 26-May-17 23:03:38

Ours are lovely too. And I'm one of them grin

StealthPolarBear Fri 26-May-17 23:11:37

If I don't post again you know what happened

elephantoverthehill Fri 26-May-17 23:14:24

Have you just moved to Stepford?

Nicketynac Fri 26-May-17 23:22:09

I am in the PTA. I smile and say hello to fellow PTA members in the playground. The parents I talk to are people I have known for years (I have moved back to where I grew up) or are parents of my DCs' friends. Maybe I am not doing it right and will be asked to leave the PTA...

Neolara Fri 26-May-17 23:25:19

Our PTA mums are fab. So we're the previous ones. Am hugely grateful for all the hard work they do for the school.

BorisTrumpsHair Fri 26-May-17 23:26:56

Just wait. It's early days.

ScarlettFreestone Fri 26-May-17 23:33:38

Yes our PTA Mums and Dads are all very nice, chatty and friendly.

They also work really really hard to raise funds for the school and organise lovely things like discos, book fairs, the Christmas market and the Summer fete.

How they remain so nice in the face of some miserable, rude parents who complain but never volunteer is a mystery.

TheoriginalLEM Fri 26-May-17 23:37:33

just don't diss their lemon drizzle cakes or rice crispie nests!!

gillybeanz Fri 26-May-17 23:45:20

I too was going to ask if you lived in Stepford.

HoneyDragon Fri 26-May-17 23:51:29

I'm a pta that should worry you grin

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer Sat 27-May-17 09:17:15

Yep I'm worried

Beckywiththebadhair Sat 27-May-17 10:39:45

Our PTA are lovely but then most of the parents at our school are.

ThouShallNotPass Sat 27-May-17 10:55:20

Ours are nice.

To your face!

StealthPolarBear Sat 27-May-17 10:56:34

Yes I forgot to mention all the stuff they do for the school. The gits.
