Seems a bit early, though...

What are you afraid of?

That you are actually an alcoholic, or that you might turn into one?

Too feckin anal if you ask me. But that's a British thing for a lot of people, keeping up appearances. Sun has to go over the yardarm shyte.

You really do not need approval or opprobrium from a bunch of nutters on the internet do you? Just do it.

FGS are you an adult or a child.

If I wasn't pregnant I'd be on it. Do it for me please... I'm hot and fat and swollen and tired.

Cheers everyone.

It has been a very sad week given what happened in Manchester.

A bit of down time from all the sadness is good for everyone. Enjoy.

Doesn't drinking at this time of day in the heat give you a headache, though? I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

Well that was just lovely, I might have to follow it up with a g&t now Crowdblundering has mentioned the idea.

Obviously after half an hour or something.

@acquile - beautiful pep talk thank you (I bet you are an amazing going out chum Grin ) on the topic of british things, I think getting a little squiffy the second the sun shows its face and you're off work is as British a tradition as it gets. Chocks away!

Imperial, a painkiller will sort that out. AFTER the event. But if it doesn't work for you, no one is saying you have to.

As soon as I have dropped DDs friend home I am having a very large white wine. I am clock watching and wondering if dropping her off 10 mins early would be wrong Grin

Don't worry darling, I'm sure between us we can keep your end up Flowers

I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

Here's what I intend to be fit for:

  • telling the kids to bugger off to bed when they get home and ordering a takeaway
  • enjoying sunshine
  • watching a bee go lazily from flower to flower in my garden and hoping it doesn't sting me
  • watching some of the new series of bloodlines
  • sleep

I live in an old house that takes ages to warm up, Imperial. I should be ok to drink until about mid June if I keep the curtains shut.
