Worked from home today, no commute, hard week, DH is doing ballet run etc

Seems a bit early, though...

ProudBadMum Fri 26-May-17 17:27:30

I wasn't drinking a rum and coke just after 12 today in the garden with a friend.

Sláinte wine

Crowdblundering Fri 26-May-17 17:29:25

I am sat in the garden with a large G&T enjoying the peace before OH arrives with DSDs for a BBQ (I have put some pretty fairy lights up for them outside though grin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface Fri 26-May-17 17:31:19

I'm drinking cider.

Saucery Fri 26-May-17 17:31:24

That sounds divine. I am having a Rioja with sparkly water and ice.

acquilegiannie Fri 26-May-17 17:31:33

What are you afraid of?

That you are actually an alcoholic, or that you might turn into one?

Too feckin anal if you ask me. But that's a British thing for a lot of people, keeping up appearances. Sun has to go over the yardarm shyte.

You really do not need approval or opprobrium from a bunch of nutters on the internet do you? Just do it.

FGS are you an adult or a child.

Enjoying prosecco in very hot garden now - no guilt, no addiction, just pleasure on a lovely day

Saucery Fri 26-May-17 17:36:47

Do you need some vodka in your unsweetened grapefruit juice, acquil? You seem a little .....fraught

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips Fri 26-May-17 17:37:01

If I wasn't pregnant I'd be on it. Do it for me please... I'm hot and fat and swollen and tired.

acquilegiannie Fri 26-May-17 17:37:10

Cheers everyone.

It has been a very sad week given what happened in Manchester.

A bit of down time from all the sadness is good for everyone. Enjoy.

ImperialBlether Fri 26-May-17 17:37:55

Doesn't drinking at this time of day in the heat give you a headache, though? I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

NavyandWhite Fri 26-May-17 17:38:07

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

littleshitebing Fri 26-May-17 17:38:30

acquilegiannie any need to be so dickish about it?

Just come home from work and having a mojito yum

metspengler Fri 26-May-17 17:39:05

Well that was just lovely, I might have to follow it up with a g&t now Crowdblundering has mentioned the idea.

Obviously after half an hour or something.

@acquile - beautiful pep talk thank you (I bet you are an amazing going out chum grin ) on the topic of british things, I think getting a little squiffy the second the sun shows its face and you're off work is as British a tradition as it gets. Chocks away!

acquilegiannie Fri 26-May-17 17:39:16

Imperial, a painkiller will sort that out. AFTER the event. But if it doesn't work for you, no one is saying you have to.

FlossyMooToo Fri 26-May-17 17:40:39

As soon as I have dropped DDs friend home I am having a very large white wine. I am clock watching and wondering if dropping her off 10 mins early would be wrong grin

metspengler Fri 26-May-17 17:42:27

If I wasn't pregnant I'd be on it. Do it for me please... I'm hot and fat and swollen and tired.

Don't worry darling, I'm sure between us we can keep your end up flowers

I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

Here's what I intend to be fit for:

- telling the kids to bugger off to bed when they get home and ordering a takeaway
- enjoying sunshine
- watching a bee go lazily from flower to flower in my garden and hoping it doesn't sting me
- watching some of the new series of bloodlines
- sleep
