AIBU?

To hate this heatwave

I don't know why, but ever since I was a kid I hate the hot weather; it has always made me feel, well, ugly and inferior!!! I was always a wee bit on the big side (never massive, although I'm a size 16 just now!). Does anyone hate the heat?

Me.

I feel awful in the heat. Id live in a igloo anyday.

BunsBumpBlur · 26/05/2017 13:11

YANBU! We all hate it, my whole family. We don't go to beach holidays and try to go somewhere cool for Summer hols.

Some folks just aren't cut out for the heat. My poor DS gets covered in heat rash every time the temp goes up and it isn't even that hot.

AmethystRaven · 26/05/2017 13:11

I burn very easily and being in the sun makes me feel weird so I'm not a fan. I also have a cold which is making it worse!

Stansmith01 · 26/05/2017 13:12

Yanbu! I've always felt the same too

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 13:13

i hear you - am surrounded by people that love it, cant wait to do outdoorsy things and so on,
not me, i am indoors feeling hot and sweaty.
if the summer months are going to be this hot then its going to be horrible for me too. How people can like it is a mystery.

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 26/05/2017 13:14

I normally can take it or leave the heat but I'm 6 months pregnant and dealing with a chicken poxy toddler.
So I hate it at the moment!

GahBuggerit · 26/05/2017 13:18

Yabu it's bliss. I'm rather sweaty and sluggish, but I'm in my own personal heaven.

Don't worry it won't last Grin

ThePinkOcelot · 26/05/2017 13:19

I love this weather. When I'm on holiday. I hate having to go to work and work in it. The office has been horrendous.

OvO · 26/05/2017 13:19

Hate it.

I'm thinking of lurking in the fridge aisles in Sainsbury's just to keep cool. I do need some shopping, I'm not totally weird.

nusratum · 26/05/2017 13:20

Yes feel lethargic and uncomfortable all the time. And because I am carrying a few extra pounds than I'd like, the heat just exaggerates it somehow :/

Sparklingbrook · 26/05/2017 13:20

If I have absolutely nothing to do I love it. In the shade-I avoid sitting in the sun.

But if I have stuff to do I just get all hot and bothered.

I do struggle to sleep when it's hot.

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 13:20

i need air conditioning - if it wasnt really expensive to run i would!

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 26/05/2017 13:22

It's early summer so not really a 'heatwave'

Happens every year

SoupDragon · 26/05/2017 13:22

I love it.

I hate being cold though, winter is miserable for me.

Lottapianos · 26/05/2017 13:23

I love sun but hate the heat. I'm ok today because it's warm but there's a nice cool breeze so no sweaty squelchy weather. I'm in London and it's not unknown to get a couple of weeks of 30 plus weather in August and it's hell. You feel disgusting all the time

SoupDragon · 26/05/2017 13:23

It's not early summer, it's still spring so I'd call it a heatwave.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 26/05/2017 13:25

Oh come on you people give us heat lovers a break. How many days in Britain are like this. Give it 2 more days and there will be 'how to keep cool' advice.

I remember 1976 now that was hot.

First Pregnant in 1989 and that was boiling
To be fair my eldest dh hates it. We all love it and abroad while we were revelllimg he would be factor 50 in the shade muttering into his beer.

Don't worry op it wont last.

Ketzele · 26/05/2017 13:26

I'm not a fan - I get headaches, heatrash, grumpyitis, my thighs rub, my eyes water... But the worst bit is definitely commuting to work (90 minutes each way) on packed, sweltering trains.

wasonthelist · 26/05/2017 13:27

YANBU heat is rubbish.

araiwa · 26/05/2017 13:27

its dark here

27 degrees and 80% humidity

this morning we had huge storms with an absolute downpour, by lunchtime it was 34 degrees

quit your complaining!!

DuggeeHugs · 26/05/2017 13:28

I hate it too. It's miserable. Nice to look at but rubbish to actually have to do anything in.

Crushsick · 26/05/2017 13:30

I'm not a fan because I'm overweight and extremely self conscious and struggle to find nice clothes that are flattering yet keep me covered.

For the past two days I've suffered in skinny jeans. Last night I slapped on some fake tan on my legs and today wore a light cotton dress with mid length sleeves and my God it's so much more bearable today!
I'm cooler but covered and not feeling self conscious as my legs look not bad actually and my flabby arms are covered but cool.
It's made such actually difference to how I feel in the heat!

Yanbu I hate it with a passion. Always get miserable, angry and suffocated with the heat

Roll on winter!!

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 13:32

why can 't we have nice sunny days, bit of a breeze not too hot, comfortable weather? i love the cold.
hot trains must be horrible to commute in - people sweating everywhere. where is the fun?
i hope it doesnt last.

BigDeskBob · 26/05/2017 13:33

I'm northern, over weight, very pale and premenopausal. I can't cope with anything more than a light drizzle.
