AIBU to ask Mumsnet for the best brand of root cover up?

If you have no idea what root cover up is, you probably do not need it!

My hair is now thinning and I do.

But which to buy!

Any advice, please and am I being unreasonable to ask for advice!

Colour Wow but it's expensive.

I use a normal hair dye. I don't like the root cover ups because they stain the skin too.

I touch up my roots every 2-3 weeks at home. It's not so much the product as the technique.

As a temporary fix Superdrug dry shampoo Cocoa Brownie is great for brown hair. And is half price at the moment.
Handy for when you look in the mirror and think oh fuck but don't have time to faff about dying roots.

I use L'oreal majirel professional hair colour which I buy online. Its really easy to use and unlike box dyes you can just use as much as you need and mix it with the appropriate amount of developer. Covers my grey and doesn't dry my hair like home dye kits do.

Thanks all, great ideas, fab.

jellyfrizz I like the idea of the dry shampoo!

CherylVole "ffs at use of AIBU for this" As opposed to what, tearing people to shreds with mean comments? Genuine question? Hope that was a joke, if not get a grip!

Rita Hazan root spray. Thickener, dry shampoo and root cover in one. It's blood awesome.
