Agreed.
Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.

God bless The Queen and her kind heart #StayStrongManchester

So basically he said that Ariana Grande should have stayed to meet the victims?

Fucking hell. I can't imagine what Ariana must be going through after what happened.

But no. Piers Morgan has to make his point.

I agree.

Yes ok she wasn't injured which makes her luckier than some and yes she is rich and privileged and blah blah. But fundamentally she is a young girl who must be scared, traumatised and feeling incredibly guilty and responsible for something which wasn't her fault. Cut the poor girl some slack.

People do weird things in grief so there are all sorts of things she could have done that were 'wrong' as such. I am surprised her PR team didn't tell her to stay though.

It's certainly not the worst thing he ever said. I am a bit worried that I sort of agree with him. Will go and have a word with myself.

What is the matter with this guy? Was he always an utter tosser? [rhetorical] FFS

I thought she would've stayed to meet her fans - and put a positive spin on this concert so it's remembered for good reasons?

Or am I missing something?

Her response was a single pretty self indulgent tweet.

I don't think his point is without merit to be honest, though personally I find him pretty unpleasant.

What an arsehole. Apparently she's offered to pay for the funerals of the victims and her mum was very helpful and kind during the immediate aftermath.

Report
HelenaDove · 25/05/2017 21:22

Shes only 23 and is very likely upset herself and probably taking advice from her manager/record company.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 25/05/2017 21:22

She's 23, had a horrible shock/experience and has most likely gone home to her mum.

Who can blame her?

Report
MajesticWhine · 25/05/2017 21:22

I think it's out of order to criticise her. She has suffered too. Poor woman must be in terrible shock.

Why are you following him on twitter then? It's no secret he's an arse of very little brain.

The man is an International grade 'a' cunt so anything coming out of his mouth (including Trump's wotsit-shaped cock) has to be taken with a pinch of bullshit salt. Best thing for arseholes is to ignore them.

I imagine the poor girl was traumatised. Ffs she was a terrorist target. She probably just wanted to go home and be with her family and friends. She was still in the building at the time, its likely she at least heard the bomb. She may meet some of them later when she is recovered, who knows. But for now, she should be left alone.

HelenaDove · 25/05/2017 21:24

No doubt if she had stayed Piers would have accused her of using it for publicity.

He's an overpaid, dead-eyed, smug, self-satisfied arsehole, who thrives on the oxygen of publicity. Ignore him.

I'm not surprised she's gone home. If 22 people including a 8 yr old and a host of young girls, one of who I had met, had come to see me at work and died just because they were there I would be destroyed. She's expressed sympathy, she's offered to help. What more should she do?
The queen could stand by those beds and talk and smile because she's spent ninety years training herself to do that. I wouldn't have been able to get through the door without breaking down and I'm nearly twice ariana's age.

He's carrying on - and this is a guy with a platform on ITV and the Daily Mail. No doubt he'll be writing a column soon

New low and unnecessary dig.
I am not a royalist but the queen has heaps of experience doing visits in posttraumatic situations.
A 23 year old does not.
It would be guaranteed that had she visited hospitals or attended the vigil then she would have been accused of any if not all of the following: making it about her/cashing in on publicity/PR exercise/triggering parents/causing security problems.
Damned if she did, damned if she didn't.

She was a victim ffs. Maybe not killed or injured but I bet she feels shit. 22 people murdered at her concert. Not sure if ever want to perform again if it were me. She's only young herself.,

BTG3385 · 25/05/2017 21:29

To be fair, our own queen held a garden party the day after!

I don't blame her for going home. It's a shocking time for someone young. I am sure she will be sending messages etc.

I thought she would've stayed to meet her fans - and put a positive spin on this concert so it's remembered for good reasons? and we accused of using the publicity to further her career. She's a young girl, had the fright of her life. She's fled home to her boyfriend and safetynet. She's allowed the emotional response that everyone else in that room was entitled too given that she's as much a victim as every other uninjured person in the room. She doesbt have to try and spin in to sell a few more records and NOTHING is going to make this be remembered in a good way because an arsehole came in and tried to kill as many families and children as possible

Report
Coloursthatweremyjoy · 25/05/2017 21:29

She's young. God only knows what the poor girl is going through, I know what my brain would be doing to me.

When something like this happens you think there ought to be something you say or do...there isn't...there aren't words, she couldn't have made it better.

Meet her Fans? A positive Spin? Really? She should have swanned through the grieving crowds like some benevolent angel?...news flash...pop princess turns out to be human, scared, breakable and imperfect like the rest if us.
