To think UKIP have just saved themselves from extinction?

Let's face it, after brexit they were going the way of the dodo.

By throwing themselves into the often politely ignored issues around community integration and extremism I think they will be stealing a big chunk of the Tory vote again.

Especially the removal of passports from anyone leaving the country to fight for ISIS.

If that had been in place earlier then the Manchester murderer wouldn't have been able to enter the country.

Unfortunately it is extremely easy to enter the UK - either with a fake passport, or a real passport but not your own, or without a passport at all on the back of a truck.

Perhaps but it certainly make sure it a lot harder than just waltzing in doesn't it?

Definitely harder to move an entire trained cell in.

The Manchester Murderer was born here.

They'll always be a need for UKIP.
They're the only ones brave enough to say what the silent majority think.

Does being born her give you automatic right to a British Passport if you have 2 non British parents?

He entered England via a vagina. Good luck on UKIP introducing procreation rights unless you have a British passport Hmm

And didn't, as far as we know, fight for ISIS.

Maybe a more effective policy would be to refuse to issue British muslims with passports OP? Or to remove them if they travel to another muslim country?

People who are known to have fought for ISIS tend to be arrested and charged on their return to the UK, so not a great way of moving a terror cell in.

The three schoolgirls who left to join so called IS went on fake passports I believe. They are not that difficult to come by in criminal circles. The bomber also had family in Libya, so did have a legitimate reason for travelling there.

Yes he was born here.

However under those rules he would not have been allowed to return after his jaunt out of the country to fight with Isis.

Ukip has also, I've just seen, guaranteed the right to remain of all right migrants who work in the NHS and in health and social care after brexit.

I was going to vote Tory, but have definitely been won over by this manifesto.

As far as we know there is (as yet) no evidence he did "fight for ISIS." So even if he did, it wasn't known, so no passport would be removed. So how would that law help?

I haven't read it, but I don't mind if UKIP win over a good few more Tory voters! ...but not enough to have any MPs themselves.

Hopefully not. Their plans for the death penalty for suicide bombers is another example.

Under CURRENT rules he would have been arrested on his return.

How is UKIP going to guarantee anybody's rights to anything, precisely, with the 1 seat, if any, they will get in this election? In the absence of proportional representation in the UK, your vote is wasted unless you vote strategically. If your local UKIP candidate stands any chance and you want them to win (why? you don't quite seem to understand the law as it stands, so can you explain how the UKIP policy will improve things?), then by all means vote for him or her, but otherwise you should spend your vote wisely on the party who is more LIKELY to get in, so that your vote will actually count.

Do you/did you really believe that the UKIP manifesto would have prevented the Manchester bomber from entering the UK?

Good. Will split the Tory vote.

Also, bear in mind that safe in the knowledge that they are finished in politics, for the time being, UKIP can make any fanciful pledges that enter their heads (one in, one out?? Seriously?), whereas the Tories and Labour both actually face the risk of winning and being held somewhat accountable.

Yes I do.

It's been reported that he was known to authorities, he was already linked to extremism. His family has been linked to extremism.

He visited an extremism hotbed before coming back to the country.

Yes. He would not have been able to enter.

Yet this silent majority doesn't seem to vote for them. Gives me hope for humanity, that does.

I think some things UKIP wants to do will need to be revised because they will prove incendiary, and you need to actually have policies that care for everyone you are responsible for if you seek political power, including "faith communities".

Even so, the political establishment has royally shot itself in the foot in many ways, and our Prime Minister is truly in the last chance saloon in proving that the safety of ordinary people and their kids in the UK is even on the establishment priority list anywhere. Which is sad, because behind the scenes an awful lot of people are working hard to keep people safe, did anyone but know it.

By throwing themselves into the often politely ignored issues around community integration and extremism I think they will be stealing a big chunk of the Tory vote again.

Probably an even bigger chunk of Labour's traditional core vote on this issue - the people who bear the physically and sexually violent brunt of what is being called "integration problems" seem to mostly be little girls in traditional Labour areas. Let's not get into that dreadful sad nightmare (yet another dreadful sad nightmare), but surely some former labour voters will be searching for a party because they can't bring themselves to vote Tory.

I'm not passing judgment on whether it's right or wrong, Merely an observation.

Why do you keep saying he wouldn't have been able to enter? Confused He was born here and was a British citizen. Even when he was reported to authorities by his Muslim friends for having extreme views they didn't do anything. UKIP couldn't have done anything if this person wasn't even on the radar!!

Ffs for the last time YES he was born here.

But he was already known to the authorities as having links to extremism and terrorism.

He had visited a popular hotspot for extremism and training up.

He wouldn't have been allowed back in to the country.

Terrorist suspects had their control orders lifted to go and fight Gadaffi and were then let back in, no questions asked, according to this piece.
Makes you wonder why anyone trusts Theresa May to keep people safe if this is what she got up to at the Home Office.

I really don't think UKIP have a plan. It's not about making improvements to health services or transport or reducing taxes, it's just about immigration. They're too focused, which is why I think they're downright useless and should be extinct.
