Eeek!

FluffyWhiteTowels · 25/05/2017 07:23

[shocked] that's some over zealous cleaning for sure

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 25/05/2017 07:23

But look how clean your grouting is... Grin

Your orchid does look very sad though...

Loopytiles · 25/05/2017 07:24

Were the flowers actually about to drop off anyway? That does happen.

Or DC?

OriginOfCliches · 25/05/2017 07:25

Oh.

Have you asked her why?!

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 25/05/2017 07:25

Blush oh your cleaner has trimmed your lady garden!!!

weddingopinionsplease · 25/05/2017 07:28

How did that happen? 😵

Newtssuitcase · 25/05/2017 07:28

Are you sure? It looks like the flowers were about to drop off (perhaps she knocked it) and then she's possibly cut it back a bit (which tbh I can't see). But if she has cut back dead wood then it will probably help it.

It looks like its about to reflower anyway.

It seems like a weird thing for the cleaner to do, are you sure they didn't just fall off? That always happens eventually to any orchids that find their way into my place...

Rioja123 · 25/05/2017 07:32

It looks like they fell off.

SuperBeagle · 25/05/2017 07:37

Doesn't look like she cut it to me.

Looks like it fell off. That's what my orchids look like at the moment (ugly, basically).

FlouncingInTheRain · 25/05/2017 07:37

Looks like they hit fall point to me too.

The top part of the stem is discoulouring. If you trim it to the branch, just below the clip it looks like you've got quite a few potential buds on the lower branches.

SoupDragon · 25/05/2017 07:39

I don't think it looks trimmed either.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 25/05/2017 07:40

I did this to one of DH's orchids once when cleaning the kitchen window sill. Caught it with my arm and broke the flower spike off.

He got a bit tetchy about it until I pointed out he could have been cleaning himself...

AnnieAnoniMouse · 25/05/2017 07:41

I'd insist she took it home with her.

I hate house plants, especially orchids 🤣

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 25/05/2017 07:42

Orchid flowers have a habit of suddenly falling off en masse. More likely they fell off and your cleaner tidied them up? Not sure why she'd cut the flowers off??

Lavenderhillslob · 25/05/2017 07:49

Thank you - I have to go to work now so I'll look at it more closely tonight Confused

I accidentally hoovered the flowers off an orchid once. I was using the hose extension and turned around when someone called me, and schlllloooop they were gone.

Is hoovering the secret to beautiful grouting?

Kokusai · 25/05/2017 07:55

She probably just knocked it or moved t and all the flowers fell off?

IDismyname · 25/05/2017 07:56

Is agree on the flowers falling off. Always happens to me. Plant looks great one day. Then flowers fall off the next.

But I think you just came on here to make a stealth boast about how clean your grouting is Grin
