Just seen 3 adverts where someone sits down to a cup of coffee and a biscuit, with a plate of about 8 biscuits. Does anyone do that in real life?!

Surely either you take a couple from the packet or you take the whole packet?! Who is going to frig around dirtying a plate and possibly taking more/less that you are going to want?

I should say that I am non biscuit eater, but I have never seen anyone put biscuits out like this!

Erm we put them in a mini plastic dish..........otherwise crumbs everywhere.

TheCatOfAthenry · 24/05/2017 23:17

YANBU.

That said, my cat Biscuit likes to sit on clean plates...

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 24/05/2017 23:18

I don't, but I do put crisps in a bowl

SumThucker · 24/05/2017 23:19

I was only allowed biscuits on a little plate when I was a child, I don't bother now though.

Twofurrycats · 24/05/2017 23:21

You haven't met my mother. side plate, biscuits, glass of tea, slice of lemon, lemon squeezer. I regularly tell her it's due to being a virgo.

RedBugMug · 24/05/2017 23:21

yes
or the whole bag would be eaten in seconds.

Saharah · 24/05/2017 23:21

I do, I much prefer it for some unexplained reason.

5foot5 · 24/05/2017 23:23

Trouble with taking out the whole packet is that before you know it they are all gone! Much safer to just take a few on a plate and leave the packet in another room

BandeauSally · 24/05/2017 23:23

Who the fuck drops crumbs?? Shock no crumb gets left behind!

twistyturnythings · 24/05/2017 23:23

YANBU! STRAIGHT FROM THE PACKET!

justdontevenfuckingstart · 24/05/2017 23:23

No! Just why? You put the packet next to your mug. And then they get dribbled on.....

Abitofaproblem · 24/05/2017 23:24

I don't normally, but now you say it I think this elaborate process might make me more aware of how much I am eating and stop me from finishing half the pack without noticing. I will do it from now on!

twistyturnythings · 24/05/2017 23:24

Apologies for shouting! Caps lock after yanbu Blush

PyongyangKipperbang · 24/05/2017 23:24

Oh crisps in a bowl is a must, otherwise you cant pick out the big ones first!

And of course it should be "Nobody .....for themselves" apologies!

I remember when we were kids once and mum put out some biscuits on a plate, and more than that, they were Chocolate ones! We both said "Oh, who's coming round?!" and she says that she knew then that her attempts to ingratiate herself with the naicer laydees of the street was doomed to failure thanks to her bringing up her crashingly common children :o:o

I make myself up trays when I'm working from home sometimes. Sometimes it's an elaborate Japanese teapot and expensive tea, but sometimes it might involve a little dish of biscuits and coffee. I've got a weakness for ceremonial. Grin

wildflowerfable · 24/05/2017 23:30

I sometimes put three on a little plate, I'm not sure why.

PyongyangKipperbang · 24/05/2017 23:33

I suspect that the plate users may be in the slight majority here!

I am horribly aware that the phrase "IABU" is hovering somewhere in the not too distant future Confused

The people in Gogglebox always have cakes or biscuits in a bowl, esp the Manchester family.

Makes us hungry Blush

HelsinkiLights · 24/05/2017 23:33

Children + Biscuits = Crumbs Smile

PyongyangKipperbang · 24/05/2017 23:40

I am not a nibbler and I dont have a sweet tooth so the idea of sitting in front of the tv scoffing is alien to me. DH on the other hand seems incapable of watching anything without shovelling either nuts or popcorn into his face!

Helsinki that's why you eat the whole packet, so the kids can't make crumbs Grin

BandeauSally · 24/05/2017 23:41

Children + Biscuits = Crumbs smile

Then they don't deserve biscuits. Give them to me Grin
