Since DD was born I have come to understand it will be a while before I get to experience what I used to enjoy again. So I have been trying to think of the simple pleasure to help me get through the day of endless cleaning up sick and doing chores.
I really enjoy washing my hair in a steaming hot shower, especially when someone else is holding the baby so she isn't in the bathroom with me 😅
Or hanging out the washing in the sunshine.

Hot shower before bed.

The smell of pret when I walk past it in the morning (smells of pastry and coffee!)

Looking at my garden.

Cuddling my kitten.

Lots more!

But in all seriousness, getting in a hot bath or getting into clean bedding. Best everday pleasures.
Another is floating in a pool contemplating life. I dont get to do that one as much as id like.

Oh OP. I remember this stage so well.
I used to consider a trip to the big TESCO a "day out". I used to spend ages looking around the clothes and homeware after I'd got the groceries and then have a tea in the cafe!

Baths. Deep baths. Watching horror films on the laptop whilst in foamy deep hot bath.

My current bath is shit and shallow.
I'm saving for a new one.

Oh yes, box sets.
I remember finding an old documentary series on Northern Ireland on YouTube. Baby used to wake around 1am for a feed and I'd watch an episode a night.

i love listening to true crime podcasts while i clean/do dishes etc.

my little pleasures are probably:

sitting by window looking out (with window
open)

a cup of tea & chocolate in the evening

getting into my nicely made bed with lots of pillows and cushions

being indoors when its pouring & windy, maybe even put the fire on

Getting into bed, naked after a shower when there's fresh sheets on the bed.

kids are 8 and 5.... my favourite time of the day is when I need to go "number two"... to sit in that room with the door locked with no children is great. I may, in fact, sit there for quite a while after finishing just for the peace and quiet.

My quiet secret mning hour when I have the house to myself between getting in from work and starting cooking in time for when DH gets home.

Going to bed first and starfishing, especially if it's fresh bedding.

Getting into a newly changed and ironed bed. Lovely smells around the house. Listening to the birds singing. Watching my garden grow. Watching my dog play.

So true it's the simple stuff.Smile

Sitting in the morning sun with a coffee before the world wakes up
Naked toes in the grass
Laughing
Time with family and friends
Precious time alone, if I don't have at least a few hours a week I feel a bit mad
Cooking nice food
Sewing
Walking the dog
Running
A good book
Mostly solitary activities, I should actually bugger off and live in a nice cave!

Running in the countryside.
The flowers growing in my garden, particularly as 5 years ago it was a dull, empty wasteland.
Currently watching the DCs playing in the garden. Absolutely beautiful evening Smile

Eating. I make sure I look forward to every meal I have.

Driving on my own down country lanes with the sun shining and my music playing. Doesn't happen very often so that one is bliss

I'll add some more now I've finished dinner!
True crime podcast (though I probably shouldn't listen to them while breastfeeding)
Bathing with DD and then cuddling her in fresh PJs.
Walking along the beach and having an ice cream with my mum Grin

Sitting in garden, looking at flowers, which are doing well, unusually.

Glass of wine, crime thriller to read

Looking at sky

Writing something good

Reading my Kindle (haven't had time for this since mat leave!)

Leaving the house within minutes of deciding to (takes so long to get a baby ready!)

Having an early night or lie in

However I do think baby cuddles and milestones make it all worthwhile Smile
