Iloverichtea · 22/05/2017 16:48

I know IABU really.

And that it's irrational, mostly groundless and a bit unfair.

But it really annoys me!

Any other irrational annoyances out there? I have tonnes more Grin

What do you consider lots of children? I have 3.Is that too many?

Mycutiemarkisrubbish · 22/05/2017 16:51

Everyone has random annoyance but... why does the number of children other people have annoy you?!

claraschu · 22/05/2017 16:54

I don't think this is irrational. There are way too many people on the planet.

GeillisTheWitch · 22/05/2017 16:54

I don't care how many DCs people have but I have one on facebook who's a real martyr about how busy she is and never has any time for herself. Well, nobody forced you to have 5 so stop moaning. It's the moaning that annoys me not the DCs though.

Iloverichtea · 22/05/2017 16:56

I'm talking 5/6 or more...

I know it's completely irrational and silly, but I think it's because it seems a bit selfish to have loads of children. Both on the state and siblings.

I only have six. I can't see why that would irritate you. I'm told they're all delightful by most. I'm biased, obviously, but all adding positively to the world.

Dawnedlightly · 22/05/2017 16:57

It's a reasonable opinion. Own it.

BillyButtfuck · 22/05/2017 16:57

5/6? I assumed this would be about that family with 20!

What's it got to do with the state? The siblings are content and most want decent size families themselves. Moaning? Far more from MNers who struggle to cope with 1/2.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 22/05/2017 16:59

We had 4.

The oldest two have good careers and Pay tax to help with your social care when you get older and to fund the schools and hospitals you or yours may use.

The younger two want to be doctors so yes you should mind your own business and look at how much you contribute to society Wink

Highalert · 22/05/2017 16:59

I'm one of 5 and my DP is one of 12. We must annoy the fuck out of you OP.Grin

Iloverichtea · 22/05/2017 16:59

Like I said, I know it's an irrational thing to be irritated by, and I'm not judging anyone for having lots. It's hard to even come up with a genuine reason why I get annoyed!

More interested to see what irrational annoyances other people have!

What a weird thing to be annoyed about Confused yes YABU.

IAmTheWorwax · 22/05/2017 16:59

Yanbu to think it's greedy and selfish.

FatFacedDog · 22/05/2017 16:59

I agree with you OP but I don't really know why 😂

GrangeMill · 22/05/2017 16:59

I don't think about it much but I do find it annoying when people expect allowances because of how hard their life is with lots of kids, but then I also find it annoying when my friend with one child moans continuously about how hard life is. Both their own choice.

I do think it;s unreasonable to expect the state to pay for people to have numerous children, but also accept that it's not really something for the state to legislate on.

IAmTheWorwax · 22/05/2017 17:00

I get really irritated by people coughing

PortiaCastis · 22/05/2017 17:01

I would love more children but I don't think is possible and I love seeing a large family so yes YABU

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 22/05/2017 17:03

Both on the state and the siblings? Don't be so bloody silly. We have friends who struggled with one kid and others those 2 siblings hated each other.

We asked the state for nothing and pay high tax bracket. My kids adore their siblings as does dh whose one of 5.

I only have one sister to help share the burden of my elderly parents and she lives miles away I would bloody love to have other siblings to help me.

Daft thread. Think you just want a row

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/05/2017 17:04

I don't think it is irrational tbh.

I don't "not like" people with lots of children, but they aren't thinking about the greater good when they have lots of children. It is rather selfish.

Don't worry we all work and pay tax now.

Lightship · 22/05/2017 17:05

I'm completely baffled by anyone who has more than one, personally, but I tend to keep that to myself. Grin

Crumbs1 · 22/05/2017 17:05

Mine give back more than we've ever taken. I didn't even get child benefit with younger ones. Better six well behaved, hardworking and successful siblings than one egocentric, spoiled singleton. Just depends on parenting.
