.... some Tesco Clubcard points. Yay me angry

"Scan your Clubcard to WIN Tesco Clubcard points" the fucking machine tells me every bloody time I buy milk.

And every time I think back to the machine "no I haven't fucking WON anything".

I know IANBU to think Tesco are dicks for repeating this over and over. But nevertheless IABU for letting a machine get on my tits like this.

Tesco YABVVVVVU - please stop this dickish behaviour immediatly.

Not as bad as those in Ikea and Morrisons that ask you in a roundabout way if you have stolen anything.

Ikea machine goes 'are you sure that you scanned all your items' and the one in Morrisons witters on about 'surprising items in the bagging area' if you accidentally move your shopping bag while packing it.

I thought it said "scan your clubcard to earn clubcard points"?

CotswoldStrife Thu 18-May-17 14:34:47

What amused said, it's earn not win at our store hmm

NotJanine Thu 18-May-17 14:35:42

I used to think it was 'win'. I think they deliberately mumble 'earn'

You can turn the sound off wink

OdinsLoveChild Thu 18-May-17 14:36:57

My Dad won a pair of tights once misses the point of the thread entirely

user1491572121 Thu 18-May-17 14:39:06

Same as "win" things you've just bought apparently!

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 14:39:54

TY - you are a goddess.

I will explore this asap.

Earn would make sense.
Win does not.
I hear "Win".

Good grief, maybe it is just my ears ..............

SapphireStrange Thu 18-May-17 14:39:58

Also the breezy question 'How many 5p bags have you used?' when you told it quite clearly at the beginning that you'd brought your own. Calling me a liar?!?, I always think.

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 14:41:01

Earn and Win don't even sound that similar .....

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 14:42:50

What I REALLY want them to do, instead of asking "Do you want a receipt?", is to say "Your receipt is on your clubcard - would you like a printed copy too?".

That would be useful.

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 14:43:20

M&S and Sainsbury and Waitrose etc could all do that too.

PatriciaHolm Thu 18-May-17 14:48:41

I'm sure it says earn - I've never heard it as win!

OhMrBadger Thu 18-May-17 14:51:59

Yesterday I got my shopping for FREE in Superdrug! Their loyalty card scheme is 6 years old or something and they are doing versions rewards for loyalty card holders. Sometimes it's money off your bill and occassionally you the whole lot for free!

£20 worth of stuff! Brilliant!!

Wafflenose Thu 18-May-17 14:56:57

I won a fiver in a bag of Walkers today! I was munching away and thought, "what's this?" Five quid, excellent!

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 15:00:01

I won a (raw) chicken in a yellow plastic bucket once - swimming lesson raffle aged 6.

Like a modern, let down, slap in the face of a William Carlos Williams poem.

BabyHamster Thu 18-May-17 15:00:26

I used to think it was 'win', but now I think it's 'earn'....

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 15:01:40

Waffle my 9yo was pestering me on the weekend for money to buy crisps.

"we have crisps right here" says I.
"These crisps have money in them though" she replies.
"No they don't" I say.

At the bottom of the screen is a speaker symbol and if you touch that enough times it turns the sound off. But beware, they HATE you doing it! I got an attempted bollocking in Tesco by the woman who supervises those tills for turning it down, I said if I shouldnt then why was the button on the screen? She went off mumbling and was at the screen like a whippet with a bum full of dynamite as soon as I had left! Mind you, she is a miserable bitch at the best of times, I have never seen her smile!

Almost a year ago today I won a car, that was nice.

Wafflenose Thu 18-May-17 15:04:50

Boris I had no idea they contained cash! I was hungry, so grabbed some without reading the packet. I wonder what to spend it on?

NotJanine Thu 18-May-17 15:11:51

I think it sounds like 'to wurn clubcard points'

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 15:12:37

was it an actual fiver? in the crisps?

BorisTrumpsHair Thu 18-May-17 15:13:09

grin grin

Deathraystare Thu 18-May-17 15:16:02

was at the screen like a whippet with a bum full of dynamite
