Not sure why grass would need cutting at 7am..

But I think the noise law thingy states 7am is acceptable.

I would have thought it would be too damp to mow at that time of the morning

Not me btw. I was rudely woken by the big noisy council mower doing the bit round the back.
It's my day off.
Bastards.

No different to the rubbish bins being emptied at 7am! The council have a lot of grass to cut, so I can see why they start early (also they get an early finish if they start early, just like bin men)

Council workers were put on this earth to piss people off!!
Round our way they look for places to put cones and close roads for fun I am certain.

Fine on a weekday, sorry (I have tomorrow off and would be peeved to be woken at 7 but that's life sadly!)

I might think about complaining on a weekend/bank hol.

7.00.a.m. is a workday start, and they're at work.

Where I live the bins are emptied at 6.00.a.m. Shock

I think we are pleased that our overgrown grass is being cut, until it rained on Monday the 6"long grass smelt of dog's wee. It was cut on Tuesday. Still feel like taking my petrol mower over it!

Some people use contract gardeners to cut grass and they start with their petrol strimmers quite early.

7am is fine!

It would piss me right off.

The gardeners here aren't allowed to start until 8am.

I'm sorry us council workers piss you off - but it seems life as a council worker means that you piss someone off no matter what you do....

Cut the grass - piss someone off as it's too early
Don't cut the grass - piss someone off as it looks messy
Give planning permission- piss someone off as they don't want a building there
Don't give planning permission- piss someone off as how dare they not let me build on my land

Apply the same to absolutely any service a council provides and you will get the idea

I think it's offensive. Same as builders thinking its their god given right to use the most noise offensive equipment possible at 6am. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's not cunty.
Why should they get an early start and finish at the expense of other peoples sleep?
And it's not the 'usual' workday start for everyone's work. Possibly not even most people. Two of my flat mates are nurses/disability support staff who are shift workers. I work two jobs. Most professional people start at 8 or 9am.
8am-9am - that's reasonable.

7am is fine and perfectly legal.

But I'm always up for the day at 5:30am, so morning noise (whatever it's from) is unlikely to bother me.

It's fine. Mowing doesn't occur every week, unlike bin-emptying, which happens every week at 6am where I live.

It smells delicious so I have forgiven them.
